Your contribution
The responsibilities of the intern encompasses the protection of assets for Wakefern Food Corp. and any affiliation such as a 3rd party warehouse, vendors, contractors and all associates conducting business for or with the company. This includes but is not limited to accidents and injuries, violence in the workplace issues, fire protection, crisis management, loss of product through theft, grazing or damage from any means.
What you will do
Monitors the guard force to ensure the enforcement of divisional and corporate policies and procedures are maintained.
Responds to all alarm activations and determines the cause and proper approach to the re-setting of the alarm.
Oversees the daily operation of the CCTV operator and ensures all data entry and reports are kept in accordance with divisional policy.
Responsible for the issuing of all trailer seals for store deliveries, back-hauls and shuttles from the various warehouse facilities, all gate and tractor trailer release passes, as well as time stamps and receiving stickers.
Maintains that all Asset Protection emergency equipment is kept in a state of preparedness to meet any given situation.
Coordinates visitor protocol all Wakefern Divisions and facilities.
Has the responsibility to familiarize themselves with the shipping and receiving procedures with all product divisions, also completing receiving and seal audits as needed.
Responsible for Access Control and the issuing of the access cards and maintaining the integrity of the access control platform.
Oversees the work performance of Asset Protection vendors, i.e., alarm, guard and camera companies, and maintains proper records.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills
Must be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service, confidentiality and have the ability to interface with all levels of Wakefern / ShopRite Associates.

Compensation and Benefits:
First year Wakefern Interns will be paid at $17.00 per hour. Returning Wakefern Interns will be paid at $18.00 per hour. Master Students will be paid at $19.00 per hour. The DC Vendor Compliance Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the operations side of the fashion retail industry. Our program is designed for rising seniors. We designed our internship program to be a game-changing first step in kicking off your career journey. During your internship, you will be a part of an intern cohort working at one of our corporate office locations. Our talent team will place you in a department based on your interviews, interests, and skill set. Throughout the program, you will attend business critical meetings, lead projects, gain experience working with cross-functional teams, attend professional trainings, and have the chance to brainstorm with our leadership team. In addition, we will also provide exposure to different brands and departments giving you a larger company overview that can help you determine whether the department is the fit for your career or open the door to other departments you may develop an interest in pursuing. OUR PROGRAM
Our program is designed for rising seniors. We designed our internship program to be a game-changing first step in kicking off your career journey. During your internship, you will be a part of an intern cohort working at one of our corporate office locations. Our talent team will place you in a department based on your interviews, interests, and skill set. Throughout the program, you will attend business critical meetings, lead projects, gain experience working with cross-functional teams, attend professional trainings, and have the chance to brainstorm with our leadership team. In addition, we will also provide exposure to different brands and departments giving you a larger company overview that can help you determine whether the department is the fit for your career or open the door to other departments you may develop an interest in pursuing. Williams-Sonoma, Inc. places high value on our intern's ideas for our business and our brands. During your internship, you will be given the opportunity to pioneer a new idea for the brand or function you are working for. During the final week of the program, you will present your final project to the executive leadership team. Job Purpose:
This Internship is broadly focused in scope and may cover the areas of Negotiation, Spend Category Strategy Development and Execution, Supply Continuity, Data Compilation and Analysis, and Commodity Market Analysis.
We have one goal:

! This is a full-time, paid internship position where you will work on real projects with real results! We also offer additional opportunities from social events and facility tours to lunch gatherings with company executives and other interns that allow you to network and gain a broader understanding of First Quality and its functions. At the conclusion of the summer, all interns will present their achievements to leaders at their location.
Potential Projects:
Development and execution of at least one Formal Category Strategy in an assigned area of spend
Commercial Terms Negotiations
Contract Compliance Projects
Global Commodity Data Compilation, Analytics, and Forecasting
Supply Continuity Efforts such as Risk Assessments, Supplier Capacity Discussions, etc.
Process Optimization and Documentation
Experience / Skills:
Demonstrated progress toward a Bachelors' degree in Economics, Management, Marketing, Financial Management, related field of study, or STEM degree
Minimum 3.0 GPA for Business majors, Minimum 2.5 GPA for STEM majors
Sophomore standing or greater by end of Spring 2026 semester
Highly motivated, agile, team player with good critical thinking skills and an ability to multi-task and prioritize
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Authorization to work in the U.S.
