La Casa de Esperanza company history timeline

1966

Founded in 1966 as History Builders, La Casa de Esperanza initially focused on the growing Hispanic community in Waukesha by providing educational services to help English language learners prepare and succeed in school.

1968

The founders of History Builders renamed it La Casa de Esperanza, or House of Hope, in 1968.

1979

In 1979 La Casa relocated and expanded physical operations twice.

1999

In 1999 La Casa began a capital campaign with a goal to raise $2.3 million to finance the construction of La Casa’s new community and child development center.

2001

The new center was opened in May 2001 and has allowed La Casa to expand its programs and pursue its goals more assertively than ever.

2015

Established in 2015, the La Casa de Esperanza Charter School is Waukesha County’s first independent Charter School.
