Main Job Responsibilities:
Work with the Elementary team to prepare, implement, and maintain the Upper Elementary classroom environment.
Guide and direct the children's activities academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach his/her fullest potential.
Oversee the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times and protect the privacy and working atmosphere of the class at all times.
Participate in the development and implementation of new curricula.
Maintain effective, detailed, and positive parent communication. Be proactive in sharing your knowledge with parents.
Support positive communications among the administration, staff, children, and parents.
Maintain curriculum planning, observational and academic records, including progress reports; plan, prepare, submit, and share lesson plans as required by Director.
Report all unusual or significant incidents and accidents immediately, including preparing a written report stating the date, time, nature of the incident, action taken and notify parents.
Provide input to the Director on recommendations regarding re-enrollment, rejection or dismissal of any child as required, make recommendations for testing or special needs services to the Director.
Maintain training requirements for the position in coordination with your administrative staff according to State Licensing Education guidelines.
Be a mentor to new teachers and help them successfully transition into their role and the school.
Is a team player who can flexibly share spaces and responsibilities.
Comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the Staff Handbook and adhere to AMS guidelines and professional standards.
Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

What we want you to do:
Teach in an infant/toddler or preschool classrooms as needed in a professional manner by actively participating as a teacher in classrooms as assigned
Provide support to classroom teachers in execution of classroom duties and student engagement
Assist in the supervision of 8-16 students with the classroom which may include some students with disabilities and or behavioral difficulties
Follow the Conscious Discipline model for effective teaching and learning
Effectively implement Educare's core features within the classroom
Strongly adhere to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct
Provide routine care for students such as changing diapers or assisting with toileting
Participate in the serving and clean-up of meals and snacks
Eat meals and snacks together "family style" with the students
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the quality of Clayton Educare education programs
What you must have:
Education: Must possess a level 2 certification in the PDIS system AND have completed ECE 101 and ECE 103 OR have a EQIT Certification
Experience: Previous experience working in early childhood education or a related field is preferred
Skills: Pediatric first aid, CPR, experience working with young children, knowledge of child development principles, ability to use technology in a professional setting, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and other software and applications required by the role
Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check, including CBI/FBI fingerprinting, motor vehicle/driving record (MVR), CO state child abuse and neglect registry check, a national sex offender registry check, and reference checks.
Other: Ability to work flexible hours, valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
