The house was built in 1883.

1885

One day in 1885, the twenty-three-year old apprentice machinist Henry Ford came into contact for the first time in his life with the gas-powered internal combustion engine.

1903

Ford started Ford Motor Company in 1903.

1908

However, the company was reincorporated into a family business after the 1908 Model T was a hit, and the success of the business was established.

The Model T made its debut in 1908 with a purchase price of $825.00.

1909

When the Model T was introduced to the public in 1909, its listed sales price was $825.00 (some $33,000 in today’s money). It sold so well that the plant had orders booked one year in advance.

1913

In 1913 he created the first-ever moving assembly line for cars, which made the production of vehicles much quicker and easier.

1922

In 1922, Ford acquired Lincoln, which introduced luxury automobiles into the Ford lineup.

1927

On May 26, 1927 the last Model T left the assembly line, bringing the total mark at 15 million cars.

1946

In 1946, Forbes Magazine wrote this about Henry II, “Not satisfied with resting on his family’s laurels, young Henry Ford is carving his own niche, is daily demonstrating his capabilities as head of the huge Ford Empire.”

1949

Ford introduced a newly redesigned 1949 model that made waves in the domestic market and was highly admired and enjoyed by the motoring public.

1960

On July 13, 1960, Henry Ford became Chairman of the Board.

1987

People began to tire of the Mustang in the '80s, so to redeem it, designers gave the 1987 version a sleek new "aero-look" alongside a 225-horsepower V8 engine.

1993

The 1993 Cobra R had racecar-level credentials and sold out before production even began, which led to Ford engineers, designers, and innovators to push for increased performance capabilities.

2015

The 2015 model marked the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang and the beginning of its sixth generation.

2018

Sixty-one Ford plants exist around the world, which is likely how they were able to sell six million Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs in 2018.

2019

Today, the 2019 model is poised to bring never-before-seen power and sophistication to the Ford Mustang, partly due to the glamorous 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt special edition.
