The 7N inpatient behavioral health unit has 30 beds with an average length of stay under 8 days. The Senior Psych SocialWorker will assist patients and families to define social, emotional and environmental needs and to enable them to recognize/utilize available resources to resolve needs by providing a full spectrum of social work service. In addition, they will be responsible for the coordination of care, family therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions, safety planning, discharge planning, admission biopsychosocials, timely transmission of transition records, compliance with federal and state mandates for aftercare planning, treatment team, and support with involuntary commitments including court hearing.

Knowledge of ethical principles in social work, patient rights, confidentiality (HIPAA), and standards for end-of-life care.
Sensitivity to and knowledge of diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds and how they influence a patient's beliefs about health and treatment
The ability to coordinate care, manage caseloads, and create, implement, and monitor a patient's treatment and discharge plans.
A talent for de-escalating emotional situations, assessing immediate safety, and providing support during a crisis.
The capacity for critical thinking to analyze complex situations and develop effective, individualized solutions.
Skill in writing clear, concise, and professional case notes and reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master's degree from an accredited University in Social Work
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in the mental health field.
