How you'll contribute * Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age. * Notify appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain. * Prepare patients for meals; serve and remove food trays and assist with meals or feed patients if necessary. * Answer patient call lights, anticipate patient's needs and make rounds to assigned patients. * Assist patients with the handling of personal property: dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc. * Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. * Transport patients to and from various departments in the hospital. * Report and, when appropriate, record any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents. * Assist in the preparation of admissions, transfers and discharge of patients. * Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures. * Provide general nursing care: position patients, lift and turn patients, utilize special equipment, assist patients with the bedpan, commode; assist ambulating patients. * Obtain and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, intake and output. * Make rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition. * Consult other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs. * Other duties as assigned What we offer Fundamental to providing great care is supporting and rewarding our team.
