We might be a perfect fit for you! As a Housekeeper you will be responsible for providing a wide variety of housekeeping services that maintain the campus in a clean and sanitized condition. Services include, but at not limited to: dusting, trash removal, odor control, collecting and distributing linens, sanitation of usable surfaces, bathroom cleaning, mopping and vacuuming, carpet and upholstery cleaning and all other cleaning duties required to maintain a safe environment. Consistently implements infection control guidelines and universal standard precautions. Essential Duties Include: Clean and sanitize all areas of the facility on a daily basis in a safe and secure manner in accordance with department standards and procedures. Ensures proper upkeep, appearance and use of housekeeping equipment. Maintains appropriate environmental, infection and odor control. Monitors and adheres to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) compliance. Provides Potentially Infectious Material Waste (PIMW) containment, handling and storage. Works occasional assignments for special functions, sets-up for meetings and emergency response assignments, as needed. May be assigned on-call duties. Ability to converse in English with others to give, take and process information; extensive use of telephone. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, multi-task, coordinate projects and record/transcribe general and specific meeting minutes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Communicate with other staff to relay concerns and observations involving patient safety. Qualifications Education and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma preferred. Essential Functions Performs routine and specialized cleaning to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment that meets La Posada's defined standards in any assigned areas of responsibility which may include, but not be limited to residences, healthcare buildings guest rooms, dining rooms, meeting rooms, nurses' stations, clinical areas, offices, restrooms, lobbies, corridors, elevators and stairways. Cleans, sanitizes and disinfects surfaces utilizing La Posada approved and provided cleaning agents and materials and following the defined standard procedures. Empties wastebaskets, cleans and re-lines receptacles with new liner and transports trash and waste to designated disposal areas. Dusts, wipes and polishes as needed or requested: furniture, decorative items and all surface areas as assigned, to include high dusting and dusting of window blinds and window sills. Cleans and polishes glass, windows, mirrors and other assigned items. Make beds according to standard procedure when included in assigned areas. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of La Posada and its Environmental Services Department. Sweeps, mops and/or scrubs floors using brooms, mops, or powered vacuum machines. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners. Washes windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxes and polishes as necessary or instructed. Utilizes only La Posada approved and provided cleaning agents, chemicals, equipment and supplies according to approved procedures. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to provide excellent customer service to residents, clients, customers, staff and the public. Other Duties Moves and arranges furniture in an orderly fashion as needed. Removes/re-hangs cubicle curtains (if included as a procedure in your area). Participates in product evaluation. Participates in other duties, as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time, which you are qualified for and can reasonably be expected to complete with minimal orientation. Replenishes supplies (when applicable). Keeps Environmental Services closets and housekeeping carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.Maintain age specific safety precautions including: •Elderly - No small or sharp objects or tools that may injure residents or visitors will be left out. Job Summary and Responsibilities As the Environmental Services Technician, you will be responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned responsibilities, the EVS Tech will have contact/interactions with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience. Responsible for completing as assigned, daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas. Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements. Displays safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment. Maintains cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment, as outlined in the Standard Work cart set up. Removes waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream handling (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous) in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Follows all infection prevention practices, including but not limited to: proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE). *This is a PRN role (Per Diem or As Needed) that is non-benefitted.
