Job Duties:
Prepare and stock assigned work stations with all necessary supplies
Prepares food for service (i.e. chopping vegetables, lunch meats, sauces, etc.) according to Company specifications.
Cook Guest orders to recipe specification and Guest preference (i.e. special requests) in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and proper presentation, within ticket time standards.
Answer, report, and follow Kitchen Manager and General Manager (or Manager on Duty) instructions.
Ensure that hands, food preparation, serving equipment, storage containers, and work stations are sanitary at all times.

Description of the Position:
In general, every McMenamins line cook will be asked to handle every task from the opening to the closing of the kitchen. Duties include, but are not limited to, the manufacture and presentation of all hot & cold food products. This may include salads, hot & cold sandwiches, pastas, hot & cold appetizers, pizzas, weekly specials, and sauté & grill items. Each line cook is responsible for the organization and cleaning of their work area. Being a line cook can be hard physical work, takes mental agility, and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. A line cook must have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Each employee is expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management. All McMenamins employees will be expected to keep current on company events, history, and products. Other duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty (MOD).

The Glenwood is often incredibly busy. We also run two takeout only family-oriented casserole dinners on weekdays and often do catering as well. The environment is friendly but can also be stressful by nature. We work in tight quarters. It can be a difficult job to train into as it can be hard to learn in such a busy environment. We do strive to create a fair and understanding environment and to compensate our employees as generously as possible. Kitchen Management
Thoroughly check and store food and supplies that are delivered to the facility and promptly remit any purchase orders or purchase receipts from the food vendor to the supervisor
Collaborate with the supervisor to establish an orderly environment of the kitchen
Ensure that the kitchen is clean daily, orderly and free from unnecessary hazards and dangers; regularly clean kitchen supplies, dishes, and utensils after use
Prohibit residents from loitering in the kitchen
Properly care for supplies and leftovers
Ensure trash receptacles are emptied daily
Manages the use and distribution pantry stock, kitchen supplies and equipment
Report to the supervisor any action necessary to properly maintain the kitchen and its equipment; Advise when items or supplies need to be replaced and/or repaired and recommend capital improvements as needed throughout the year and when requested by the house corporation
Safety & Security
Maintains safety, security, and emergency support for the kitchen environment to comply with all local, state and federal ordinances and adheres to food safety best practices
Promptly notify the supervisor of any maintenance problems or unsafe conditions in or around the kitchen
Observe kitchen and chapter rules, as determined by the chapter and house director

Administrative/General Responsibilities

Follow expense approval and expense reporting processes and procedures
Plans and manages the work schedule for the kitchen staff
Submit work hours for payroll through an online payroll system
Refrain from the use of alcohol or drugs in and around the chapter territory
Attend scheduled staff meetings and any requested training sessions

2 + years of related experience
Possesses a specialty or advanced certification in culinary arts or equivalent experience
