Court Filings and Research: Handle all electronic filings through the bankruptcy court's CM/ECF system. You will also run and review PACER dockets in all Florida jurisdictions to identify and resolve case issues in collaboration with the attorney.
Client and Case Management: Maintain accurate and current information in our internal case management system. You will be responsible for providing timely updates to clients via email and vendor management systems (LPS/Black Knight and Tempo).
Communication: Build and maintain positive professional relationships by communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judicial assistants, and court clerks.
Specialized Procedures: Demonstrate familiarity with specialized processes like the bankruptcy court's Mortgage Modification Mediation (MMM) program and the DMM Portal.
What We're Looking For
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in bankruptcy law is required.
Creditor's Rights Focus: Verifiable experience representing the creditor/lender side (banks, mortgage servicers, financial institutions) is essential. A working legal knowledge of foreclosure and real estate transactions is also required.
Technical Proficiency: High proficiency with the MS Office Suite, Adobe, PACER, and CM/ECF systems. Hands-on experience working in client systems like LPS/Black Knight or Tempo is a must.
Attention to Detail: You must be capable of working in an accurate, detail-oriented, and highly productive manner.
Initiative and Autonomy: We are looking for a proactive individual who can take direction and work effectively with little supervision.
Communication Skills: You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor for interacting with clients and court personnel.
Team-Oriented: A collaborative spirit and a strong teamwork orientation are crucial for success in this role.
