You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Associate Director.
**In this role, you will:**
- Lead end-to-end heterogeneous database migrations using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), including full load and CDC strategies.
- Assess source and target databases (Oracle, DB2 LUW, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and design optimized migration strategies.
- Execute pre-migration readiness: connectivity validation, sizing, parameter tuning, character sets and collations, LOB handling, constraints, and triggers.
- Perform schema conversions using SCT and integrate with DMS for complete migration workflows.
- Validate migration cutovers through data reconciliation, checksum/row count verification, and rollback strategies.
- Architect, deploy, and support Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and RDS (MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server), leveraging features such as Global Database, read replicas, and high availability.
- Apply strong DBA fundamentals, including performance tuning, security hardening, backup/restore, monitoring, and HA/DR strategies.
- Implement Database DevOps using Liquibase: changelogs (XML/SQL/YAML/JSON), versioning, rollback strategies, and controlled releases.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines integrating Liquibase using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Ensure secure and compliant operations with IAM, KMS, AWS Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and Performance Insights.

Responsibilities
Lead a team of 100+ Solutions Engineers with first and second line Managers and Directors who oversee our Solutions Architects for Observability in the Americas.
Engage directly with Solutions Engineering and Sales Leadership to strategize on their opportunities and engage in pre-sales and solution adoption activities for Splunk's Observability product set.
Work closely with cross-functional leaders and teams to develop strategic and technical territory and account plans, along with technical tools/programs to support/measure and mobilize sales campaigns and initiatives to drive growth.
As a team leader, ensure we are taking the necessary actions to attract and retain top talent, further develop a rich and diverse workforce, and manage performance at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years as a second line leader.
8+ years of Pre-Sales Solutions Architect leadership experience
Experience working in the Observability, DevOps and APM market.
