Das Neumann Haus Museum, Laidley, 9am - 3pmDas Neumann Haus was built by German immigrant Hermann Neumann in 1893.
On 1 July 1902, the town of Laidley was created as a separate municipality with its own Borough Council.
The marchers are re-enacting a photo that was taken in 1915 when the march passed this very point in Laidley, although some of the buildings are a little different now.
When the march reaches the corner of William and Patrick Street, a call will be made, asking for volunteers to join, as was the case in 1915, Mayor Jones said.
The town council was dissolved on 8 February 1917, and Laidley absorbed part of the Shire of Rosewood.
Other displays include an authentic police station with restraints display and a Vintage Linn Tractor-C 1928 (Restored and operational). Spend some time strolling through the old buildings, with the slab hut one of the highlights.
The house has been restored to its former condition, refurnished in the style of the 1930's and open to the public as a house museum.
On 3 September 1938, Tarampa was renamed the Shire of Gatton.
On 19 March 1949 it grew to incorporate part of the former Shires of Drayton and Highfields, while losing some of its original area to the City of Toowoomba and Shire of Crows Nest.
Laidley Pioneer Village & Museum, 8am - 2pmEstablished in 1972, the Pioneer Village has developed into the excellent complex it is today through the vision and hard work of the foundation members and many volunteers of the Laidley District Historical Society.
In July 2007, the Local Government Reform Commission released its report and recommended that Gatton and Laidley amalgamate, uniting the major farming, cropping and horticultural production area of South East Queensland under one local authority.
On 15 March 2008, the two Shires formally ceased to exist, and elections were held on the same day to elect six councillors and a mayor to the Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
After the deadly 2010–11 Queensland floods, which destroyed the town of Grantham, the council responded quickly to relocate the town to non-flood prone land.
