Supports and assists the Department Manager in administering and coordinating the activities of the plant's warehouse and logistics operation to ensure we are managing the operation in a cost-effective manner. Main responsibility is to review and route all releases from Customer Service to carriers for delivery to our customers.

Develop and send LTL routing sheets to LTL carriers daily.

Bids out all truckloads to Corporate truckload carriers and brokers. Awards bids based on pricing and service to the winning carrier/broker.
Sets delivery appointments with customers for truckload shipments.
Communicates with customer service on transit issues or delays on shipments.
Communicates with customer service on release issues, items not ready in time to ship, on quality hold or releases that are entered too heavy to make one shipment. Working out revisions to shipments with customer service reps based on issues associated with a particular shipment.
Backs up inventory control for shipment entries into customer carrier portals/systems for customer paid (CPU) shipments.
Communicates with customers brokers on shipments when issues arise within the customer portals or issues associated to material not ready, too heavy or on quality hold.
Works directly with Logistics specialist to develop two stop truckloads, control freight costs for both LTL and truckload shipments as well as maximizing truckload weights to above a 35,000Lb average.

SUMMARY
This position will require a leader to competently navigate through advanced Distribution Center technology in order to successfully execute all daily aspects of Distribution Center operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Direct, lead and execute all daily aspects of the Distribution Center operation that are consistent with world class business practices.
Implement and maintain best-in-class service levels (internal response, 100% order accuracy rates, 100% on-time order shipping, and inventory management & accuracy objectives) consistent with business needs and future requirements while leading day-to-day activities to achieve strategic objectives.
Continually improve team's operational effectiveness and value, while providing input and recommendations for process improvements.
Deploy continuous effort to improve distribution operations, reduce distribution costs, streamline work processes, and work collaboratively to provide quality seamless service to customers.
Proactively seek out and recommend new and innovative distribution strategies to promote ‘best-in-class' practices.
Establish work schedules, ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that tasks are assigned effectively, and completed properly by delegating responsibilities and holding individuals accountable for performance expectations.
Ensure all OSHA, GMP, and regulatory provisions are in compliance and manage Safety training programs and practices.

Develop and deploy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within transportation operations that are integrated and align with Customer Service and Global Nature's Way Transportation Global operations Goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and motivates team within the Distribution Center. Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. This leader will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Understanding of market and technology trends.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
At least 11 years of experience
within the Information Technologies.
