As an Engineering Manager for API Services, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering robust, scalable APIs and maintaining a well-governed API ecosystem. This role combines leadership of feature delivery teams and operations teams to ensure seamless integration, high availability, and continuous improvement of API services. You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive innovation, enforce governance standards, and optimize operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor engineering teams focused on API feature development and operational support.
Define team goals, KPIs, and career development plans to foster growth and accountability.
Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across delivery and operations.
2. API Delivery & Architecture
Oversee design, development, and deployment of APIs aligned with enterprise architecture and business needs.
Partner with solution architects to ensure APIs meet scalability, security, and performance standards.
Champion best practices for API lifecycle management, including versioning, documentation, and deprecation strategies.
3. Operational Excellence
Manage API operations teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and incident response.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and automation strategies to optimize API performance and reduce downtime.
Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.
4. Governance & Compliance
Enforce API governance policies, including security protocols, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to standards.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as a key liaison between engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Communicate technical strategies, delivery timelines, and operational metrics to leadership.
Lead workshops and demos to showcase API capabilities and promote adoption across the organization.
Qualifications
A combined minimum of 11 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years' engineering and/or architecture experience and 5 years' leadership experience including people management
Proven experience managing engineering teams delivering APIs and supporting operational environments.
Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful standards, and tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.
Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and API management solutions (Azure APIM).
Expertise in Java/Springboot development and delivery
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

+ Assessing security and safety controls for AI, GenAI and agentic AI implementation. This will include reviewing cyber security controls, use-cases specific guardrails.
+ Assessing approaches for red-teaming, safety testing, alerting.
+ Assessing suitability of testing, reviews and validation of AI, GenAI and agentic AI from infrastructure, cyber security point of view.

+ Evaluating data pipelines, retrieval systems, and agentic workflows with attention to data integrity, privacy enforcement, misuse prevention, access management, encryption, resilience and recovery, and robustness under adversarial conditions such as data poisoning and denial-of-service attacks.
+ Assessing data engineering, quality, and lineage across structured and unstructured data, including governance and lifecycle management of data sources and outputs, with mechanisms such as watermarking.
+ Ensure timely delivery of comprehensive regulatory and internal audit issue validation, including issues arising from other external parties.
+ Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal AI governance policies, adherence to AI/GenAI related laws and regulations, and the robustness of AI-related ethical or compliance incident response frameworks.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Full-stack Engineer to join our Foundational Framework Core Services team. This role is located in New York City.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
* Ensure systems are fault-tolerant, highly available, and able to handle high volumes of data and traffic.
* Collaborate with other senior developers to drive technical direction and strategy.
* Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
* Communicate technical ideas and plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Design and develop scalable, distributed systems using Java and related technologies (e.g., Spring, JPA, Docker).
* Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient Java code, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
* Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identifying root causes and developing effective solutions.
* Analyze system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations.
* Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
* Experience with cloud-based distributed systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
