Mauricio Ramos is President of Liberty Global Latin America, a division of Liberty Global plc. In this capacity, he is responsible for Liberty Global's strategy and operations in Latin America and oversees Liberty Global investments in VTR Global Com SA (Chile) and Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico LLC. Mr. Ramos is an executive officer of Liberty Global and sits on the company's Executive Management Committee and is Chairman of the Board of VTR and Liberty Puerto Rico. Mr. Ramos is also a Member of the Management Board of Chellomedia and Chairman of the Board of Chello Latin America. Mr. Ramos joined UnitedGlobalCom, Inc. (UGC), in October 1999 and served as its Vice President Business Development for Latin America from 2000 to June 2005. He also became involved with the company's development activities in Asia and Australia. Upon the combination of Liberty Media International, Inc. and UGC, which formed Liberty Global, Mr. Ramos became Chief Financial Officer for the Latin American division. In September 2005, he was promoted to his current position. Before joining UGC, Mr. Ramos was a Partner and Vice President at Investment Banking Services Ltd. (IBS), and Assistant Director of the Deutsche Morgan Grenfell office in Bogota, Colombia. Prior to this, Mr. Ramos worked for the Office of the President of Colombia and taught economics at Universidad de los Andes and Universidad Externado in Bogota. Mr. Ramos received a degree in Economics (1993), a degree in Law (1994) and a postgraduate degree in Financial Law (1995) from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota.
