We are looking for a skilled, fast-learning individual who will serve as a central member of the team and take immediate ownership of systems engineering for spacecraft propulsion. This role will be part of the technical organization, responsible for requirements development, verification, and validation for a variety of propulsion hardware, as well as systemarchitecture and failure mode analysis. Candidates will be expected to have ownership from the initial concept phase to a production-ready design.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of requirements for all In-Space components and systems, including defining, verifying, and maintaining requirements - it'll be your responsibility to make sure we have the right set of requirements and that we're on track to meet them with confidence through product development and qualification
Create and manage system engineering tools and processes
Review test and analysis reports to assist with confirmation that requirements are met
Communicate with management on requirement compliance at program reviews
Support reliability, failure modes, and risk assessments for major programs
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Systems Engineering associates to advance their proficiency
Complete ownership of compliance to range safety requirements in SSCMAN 91-710
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in aerospace system design, project management or related system-level roles
Spacecraft chemical propulsion system design, development or test
B.S. in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering (or other related technical subject area)
Experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes - design reviews, requirements verification and validation, failure and risk assessments
