The Sr. Maintenance Technician acts as a subject matter expert on behalf of the plant in at least one of the following equipment areas: injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers and/or stretch wrappers. The Sr. Maintenance Technician performs troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, other water filtration equipment and general maintenance of the plant. Sr. Maintenance Technician works directly with Maintenance Technicians, machine Operators, Supervisors, and Managers to resolve mechanical issues. The Sr. Maintenance Technician develops and implements best practices aligned with Niagara's maintenance strategies. Through the use of preventative and predictive maintenance processes, the Sr. Maintenance Technician champions continuous improvement efforts and assists with training in their designated focus areas. Overview The Electrical Technician I is responsible for installations, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the residential, commercial and industrial electrical industry. The incumbent of this position is responsible for assigned field installations, alterations, additions and or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment. Incumbent performs this work within an established time frame and ensures that this work is done in conformance with quality work standards, project man-hours and in the established company guidelines and within regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Must be able to report to assigned job site location on time as directed. Maintain and properly store tools and equipment. Proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials. Accurately organize materials and tools in order to maintain clean and neat work area. Has ability to erect and understand pulley systems to lift/move heavy objects. Must be capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment. Accurately read labels, job site maps/directions, manuals and written instructions. Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. Employee must be able to direct/train helpers & apprentices in proper work practices. Must have ability to plan and organize tasks in order to meet task deadlines. Ability to visualize completed work prior to installation. Must be able to perform accurate layout of electrical systems with code clearances. Have skill to accurately install duct banks and understand spacing requirements. Able to install panelboards and transformers. Understand the Proper use/selection of cables for proper installation per NEC. Ability to perform material take-off's to accurately execute work in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate with Customer on issues and solutions. Must be able to troubleshoot. Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 4 or more years of experience and meets requirements. Experience in terminations. (I.e. both aluminum and copper, twisted pair cable, terminating coaxial cable). Clearly understand and comply with company/job safety requirements. (OSHA). Must have ability & knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators. Knowledge of series circuits, Ohms's Law, DC Circuits and resistance and its effect. Ability to add, subtract, divide and use electrical formulas accurately. Knowledge of blueprints/shop drawings, including symbol use. Knowledge of use of degrees in bending conduit (i.e. concentric bending.). Knowledge of switching procedures. Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements. Employee must understand and follow the NEC. Must have knowledge of: Properly implement grounding practices, Transformer Protection/Connections, Insulating Oils & Overcurrent Protection, Parallel circuits, Fuse Operate Circuit Breakers, Motors, Inductance and Capacitance Power factors. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors. Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Installation and maintenance of AC and DC equipment Hook up and maintenance of generators, transformers, MCC's(Motor Control Center), Nav-Aids etc Oversee the demolition of cable and conduit runs as needed Interpret customer specifications to ensure the work is in compliance with industry standards, National Electrical Code, and relevant Government regulations Calibrate and Commission electrical and electronic equipment Provide guidance and technical support Knowledge and ability to read and red line drawings and P&ID's Able to supervise small crews and perform duties of Field Lead during absence. Provide technical support to and mentor subordinates Process all field service documentation in a correct and timely manner in absence of Field Tech Lead. Ensure all quality standards and HSE policies and procedures are supported and adhered to. Able to recognize and mitigate safety hazards and dangers Perform the above without supervision
