Position Summary The Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical power distribution, control, and protection systems across Samsung Austin Foundry site(s). Perform functional testing on protection devices and perform electrical diagnostic testing (insulation resistance, contact resistance, power factor, relay tests, thermography, etc.). Maintain and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) - Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, ABB, or equivalent - ensuring performance and parameter integrity. Assist with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, including battery inspection, load transfer testing, and alarm diagnostics. Support networked electrical systems and SCADA interfaces (Ethernet/IP, fiber, industrial networking). Document all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure accurate work order closure. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and contractor teams to resolve issues and improve system performance. Follow all site safety procedures and apply NFPA 70E and 70B principles to all work activities. Participate in continuous improvement, reliability initiatives, and root-cause analysis investigations. Skills and Qualifications Education: High School Diploma Experience: Minimum 5 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience required. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent certification in Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or related field highly preferred.
