The Groundsworker performs a variety of tasks related to the care, maintenance, and beautification of campus grounds and landscaped areas. Typical duties include planting, cultivating, fertilizing, watering, and spraying ornamental plants, shrubs, hedges, trees, lawns, and flowers. Rake leaves, remove weeds, clean trash from assigned areas including parking lots, and prepare and treat soils for planting. Maintain hoses, sprinklers, tools, and equipment in proper condition and repair; trim trees, hedges, and shrubs; and erect tree supports. The Groundsworker operates and performs minor maintenance on small and medium-size power mowers, riding mowers, and other gardening power equipment.
