Skills and Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Ride Mechanic at a Six Flags park or the equivalent
Must possess a valid driver's license and clear driving record
Must possess a thorough operational understanding of maintenance procedures and methods
Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines
Must possess the mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job duties.
Must be able to access all areas of the park including climbing ladders and lifts in excess of 100 feet high. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
Must be capable of bending, squatting and kneeling
Must possess a thorough working knowledge of the operation of hand and power tools, heavy equipment, etc.
Must be able to train others on the safe usage of equipment
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in muddy, dusty, wet and dirty conditions

Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Grounds Supervisor, the primary responsibility of the Groundsworker is to plant, cultivate, fertilize, water; rake leaves; remove weeds; remove debris; maintain lawns; prepare and treat soils for planting; utilize and maintain tools, supplies and equipment; trim and prune trees, shrubs, and hedges; and erect tree supports. The Groundsworker may operate and perform minor maintenance on small power-operated equipment. They may also assist in sprinkler repair or nursery functions; and provide work direction to students or unskilled assistants.
Position Information
The Groundsworker position requires a skill level and knowledge commensurate with the ability to perform the job, including the above skill requirements, in a semi-independent manner under the direct supervision of the Grounds Operations Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

* Abilities: Ability to recognize the more common species of ornamental shrubs, trees and flowers grown in California; perform strenuous physical work as described in this classification; utilize mechanical aptitude and motor coordination; learn to skillfully operate small trucks and power-driven grounds equipment; read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; and follow simple oral and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications
The Groundsworker will be responsible for the maintenance of the University's grounds adhering to

Introduction The City of Richmond is looking to hire multiple people for our Maintenance Aide II positions within the Public Works Department. These positions play a fundamental part of keeping our City maintained and serviced. Come join our Abatement, Streets, Parks or Building Services Divisions and be a part of something great.
Position Description and Duties
Under close supervision, does routine and repetitive manual laboring tasks in the areas of building, grounds, street maintenance, and City facilities and does related work as required.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
Maintenance Aides may be assigned a variety of routine medium to heavy laboring tasks related to the custodial maintenance of parks, streets, and City facilities. This differs from MaintenanceWorker I, Groundskeeper-Gardener, Equipment Utility Worker I, and Utility Worker I who are required to perform work requiring greater job skills and less supervision. Normal work assignments may include evenings and weekends. Incumbents may be assigned to various departments in the City. Appointees to positions within this class shall be limited to appointments not to exceed 1000 hours (125) days in a fiscal year.
Depending on assignments:
* May perform grounds maintenance work such as picking up rubbish, raking leaves, moving and watering lawns, and pulling weeds.
* May assist maintenance and skilled trades personnel in forming building maintenance tasks.
* May perform routine unskilled, heavy manual laboring work in street maintenance such as cleaning gutters, drains, catch basins, and culverts; and repairing street surfaces by spreading, raking, or shoveling asphalt or other materials.
* May clean restrooms and perform other janitorial duties.
* May load, unload or transport equipment, materials and supplies.
* Work in clean-up crew (i.e. clean vacant lots, vacant and abandoned houses, weeds, debris, litter, and trash) throughout the City.
* Work in parks clean-up crew as well as general buildings/facilities clean-up crew.
* Will work under close supervision.
The following duties are not to be performed by this classification:
* Assist in paving work.
* Assist signs and lines crews.
* Assist skilled crafts personnel in areas such as broad-up work.
* Opening/closing up recreation/community centers.
* Perform office clerical work other than routine filing and answering telephones by taking messages.
* Will not operate any power tools.
* Set up tables and chairs.
* Perform any skilled job duties (e.g. paving, painting, electrical, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to perform heavy manual labor and use basic hand tools. In addition, Maintenance Aide II requires six (6) months of work as Maintenance Aide I or comparable experience.

The City's policy is that all persons hired on or after October 18, 2021, must be fully vaccinated, including the booster, for COVID-19. New employees will be required to provide proof of complete vaccination or have an approved medical or religious accommodation before employment may commence.
