The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the physical plant, exterior, and interior common areas, and individual resident units in the Community, in accordance with the company s mission, vision, and values.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the hotel's physical plant and equipment. This role ensures that all systems and equipment function efficiently and that the property remains in optimal condition, meeting safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.
Safety & Preventative Maintenance (50%):
Conduct routine preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, hotel equipment, and carpet care as scheduled under the direction of the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by the supervisor
Assist with preventative maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, and other basic repairs to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard
Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures as needed
Provide general grounds keeping services such as trash removal, pool and spa maintenance, grounds upkeep, kitchen Equipment cleaning and service, and security rounds
Maintain organized work areas and equipment in alignment with sanitation and cleanliness standards whiling ensuring equipment operating logs are up to date
Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.
Maintenance Repairs (30%):
Assist in maintaining and repair of the exterior and interior of the property
Using hand tools; painting or repairing windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures
Trouble shoot and perform maintenance on hotel systems and equipment including plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets, sinks, kitchen, and laundry equipment
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems, or make minor replacements as needed
Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, and maintaining record logs
Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening)
Stay in touch with the Front Desk, bistro and housekeeping departments regarding guest needs that arise during the shift
Assist property leadership in meeting and exceeding all company benchmarks for preventative maintenance, response time, customer satisfaction, etc.
Guest Relations (15%):
Engage with guests in a friendly, customer-focused manner, providing a high level of service to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, assisting with issue resolution when needed.
Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests
Other (5%):
Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure the smooth delivery of services
Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts

The Seasonal Maintenance Aide reporting location is Shasta State Historic Park located at 15312 Highway 299, Shasta CA 96087. The Maintenance Aide works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and under the general direction of the Park MaintenanceWorker I.
The Maintenance Aide is expected to work weekends, holidays, and evenings if necessary and assigned days off may vary from month to month. This is position wears a uniform, and the successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The Department of Parks and Recreation is hiring for multiple Maintenance Aides. This position is seasonal with an approximate start date of April 2025; and extending through late 2025.
The Maintenance Aide will perform various housekeeping tasks to ensure that public health and safety standards are maintained. This position performs tasks of cleaning restrooms, restocking restroom supplies, litter pickup, grounds work and other manual labor tasks. This position requires operating gators, trucks and small equipment to clean and maintain the park facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Aide may assist permanent park personnel with more technical and/or difficult tasks.

Working Conditions
Outdoor work is common. The incumbent's work will involve moderate exposure to a full range of environmental conditions, varying terrain, unusual elements and inclement weather. This includes extreme temperatures; cold, windy, wet and muddy conditions; hot, dry, muggy or unpleasant conditions; exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and allergens such as pollen; insect stings and bites; and loud or excessive noises. The Pacific West Region is recruiting for TEMPORARY seasonal positions not to exceed 1039 hours work in a service year. Dates of employment will vary depending on funding, weather conditions and visitation. Within regulatory limitations, the length of initial appointment may be shortened or extended depending on work availability and funding.
As a Maintenance Mechanic Leader, some of the duties you will perform will include, but not limited to:
* Provide daily direction to at least three workers to accomplish trades work on regular and recurring basis. Assist with project logistics, planning, and completion of reports, etc.
* Perform work on historic structures and ensure compliance processes are followed, while maintaining the historic fabric and integrity of the historic building and trails.
* Perform journeyman level carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and masonry work and lead others in these trades.
* Provide guidance and assistance to other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
* Operate cars and trucks and other equipment such as a Bobcat loader with attachments, front-end loaders, graders and dump trucks.
Physical Demands: Physical effort is heavy to moderate and requires occasional lifting or handling of objects or materials up to 50 pounds, unassisted, following proper lifting procedures to avoid injury. Frequently required to stand while working, climb ladders or scaffolding, and bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions.
Working Conditions: Exposed to a variety of seasonal weather conditions while working outdoors (temperatures -40 to 90+ degrees). Subject to danger of falling from ladders or scaffolding. Exposed to dust, dirt, wind, and rain. May work with dangerous chemicals (paints, solvents, etc.) and around moving equipment. May be exposed to electrical shocks, and biting insects.

Summary

Duties
Interior and exterior common area upkeep including litter patrol of parking lots, trash enclosures and laundry rooms, community center and carports, and pressure washing of buildings and interior walkways
Actively coordinate and participate in turnovers and maintenance requests
Timely and professional response to ongoing maintenance needs within 24-hour response guidelines
Active participation in company sponsored training seminars
Participation in after-hours on-call service on a rotating basis
Other duties assigned as required and necessary
Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the hotel's physical plant and equipment. This role ensures that all systems and equipment function efficiently and that the property remains in optimal condition, meeting safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.
Safety & Preventative Maintenance (50%):
Conduct routine preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, hotel equipment, and carpet care as scheduled under the direction of the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by the supervisor
Assist with preventative maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, and other basic repairs to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard
Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures as needed
Provide general grounds keeping services such as trash removal, pool and spa maintenance, grounds upkeep, kitchen Equipment cleaning and service, and security rounds
Maintain organized work areas and equipment in alignment with sanitation and cleanliness standards whiling ensuring equipment operating logs are up to date
Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.
Maintenance Repairs (30%):
Assist in maintaining and repair of the exterior and interior of the property
Using hand tools; painting or repairing windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures
Trouble shoot and perform maintenance on hotel systems and equipment including plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets, sinks, kitchen, and laundry equipment
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems, or make minor replacements as needed
Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning filters, and maintaining record logs
Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening)
Stay in touch with the Front Desk, bistro and housekeeping departments regarding guest needs that arise during the shift
Assist property leadership in meeting and exceeding all company benchmarks for preventative maintenance, response time, customer satisfaction, etc.
Guest Relations (15%):
Engage with guests in a friendly, customer-focused manner, providing a high level of service to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, assisting with issue resolution when needed.
Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests
Other (5%):
Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure the smooth delivery of services
Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
May participate in the drivers program or other hotel-related duties as assigned
