Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to:
Performs or assists with routine maintenance of buildings and grounds such as: painting, minor electrical, plumbing, repairing windows, hanging doors, replacing locks, repairing and/or replacing sidewalks, patching and repairing roofs, carpentry, cabinetry, etc.;
Moves equipment, supplies, and furniture as requested;
Cuts grass, weed eats, prunes bushes, and rakes leaves, as required;
Provide support for County events;
Shovels and pushes snow and applies chemicals to walkways as necessary;
Replace light bulbs and light fixtures as necessary;
Performs other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
One year of related experience
Valid Virginia Driver's License and insurable under County's Policy.
Requires completion of National Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.
Core Skill Sets:
Knowledge of basic safety as it relates to maintenance;
Ability to safely operate grass cutting equipment;
Basic working knowledge of hand and power tools;
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time;
Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county's adopted software platform.
In addition to the standard maintenance duties listed above, a MaintenanceWorker II has the following requirements:
Responsibilities:
Perform monthly preventative maintenance schedules.
Plan and manage small building related projects.
Qualifications:
One additional year of experience for a total of 2;
Desired: one year of supervisory experience.
