Basic Function
Grant PUD manages recreation sites and Project Lands within the Priest Rapids Project. The Lands and Recreation MaintenanceWorker is an entry level bargaining unit employee. This position works under the supervision of a Lands and Recreation management position, other designated employee, or Foreman as assigned. This position assists with Grant PUD recreation and shoreline operations and maintenance to provide for a safe and enjoyable visitor experience. This position will perform general recreation site and shoreline maintenance labor with in a variety of settings such as campgrounds, golf courses, boat launches, marinas, docks, swim areas, picnic areas, trails, recreation-related buildings, and undeveloped shorelines.
Essential Functions
Interact positively and professionally with the public and answer questions regarding recreation opportunities in the Priest Rapids Project.
Perform duties relative to the assembly, installation, removal, operation and maintenance of recreation site equipment and facilities.
Apply herbicides and pesticides at recreation sites and Project lands.
Perform graffiti removal repair and repainting.
Demolish and remove structures at recreation sites and on Project lands.
Perform daily maintenance to tools and recreation site maintenance equipment.
Perform general maintenance to overwater boarding floats/docks, boat basins, launches and swim areas debris removal.
Perform irrigation operations and basic maintenance/repairs.
Complete key/lock installation and repairs.
Operate and inspect mechanical trash compactor, up to 30 cubic yards.
Operate a variety of tools/equipment needed to complete LRM Worker tasks.
Perform safety inspections at recreation sites, boat ramps, marine facilities, etc.
Perform domestic water and wastewater system maintenance at Crescent Bar Recreation Area as directed.
Specify, estimate and select materials for jobs.
Order supplies, track inventory.
Assist Lands Specialists in planning and implementing activities including special events, campground management, shelter rentals, etc.
Perform any duties of the Lands and Recreation Maintenance Aide.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Step 1 (in addition to above)
Minimum 6 months as a LRM Worker, entry level.
Demonstrate understanding on Lands and Recreation maintenance tasks by completing quality work in a timely manner.
Apply herbicides and other chemicals while following all state and federal laws, regulation and requirements.
Navigate the Priest Rapids Project to assist with projects at recreation areas and other Project Lands as required.
Safely handle materials use in recreation site maintenance (physically and with equipment).
Ability to safely and properly secure material for transport at highway speeds.
Step 2 (The following are additional functions to Step 1)
Minimum 6 months as a LRM Worker Step 1.
Demonstrate ability to independently operate landscaping and turf maintenance equipment in a safe manner.
Demonstrate ability to safely connect and operate trailers.
Ability to independently use various tools as required to complete all essential functions.
Step 3 (The following are additional functions to Step 2)
Minimum 6 months as a LRM Worker, Step 2.
Establish and maintain safe and organized work areas and shop practices.
Install, service and repair locksets on recreation site buildings.
Successfully estimate, select materials and order supplies for a small project.
Education
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Experience
Two or more years work experience in recreation or facility maintenance or in a related field such as arborist, grounds keeper, landscaper, etc. Or approximately 2+ years of responsible experience as a Lands and Recreation Maintenance Aide step 2 or similar.
Valid WA State driver's license.
Valid WA State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required.
Washington State Boater Education Card.
WSDA pesticide applicators license; must obtain a Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Public Operators license within 6 months.

The Maintenance Technician is directly responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of a 60-unit affordable housing tax credit property serving elderly residents, under the direction of the Community Manager. This role ensures all apartments are rent-ready prior to move-ins, including assessing and addressing damages, painting, cleaning, and overall unit condition. The Maintenance Technician maintains the property grounds, completes work order requests in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards, and accurately documents all work through completion. The position requires building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with residents, as well as effective working relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service professionals supporting the property.
Responsibilities:
Maintain physical condition of the property.
Perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment based on all equipment based on the manufacturer's recommendations and the Operating and Maintenance manual.
Vacant Unit Turn-Over Maintenance as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Occupied Unit Maintenance as specified by the Facilities Manager.
Preventative Maintenance as specified by the Facilities Manager.
Perform routine maintenance as directed by the Community Manager.
Periodically inspect units, buildings, and common areas, performing repairs as needed.
Physically walk the property daily and remove litter, debris, pet droppings from the grounds.
Maintain all exterior plant material including but not limited to grass, trees, shrubs, as specified by the Facilities Manager.
Notify the Facilities Manager of any diseased, dying, or dead landscape plantings.
Check and replace exterior lighting on a regular basis.
Shovel snow, utilize snow blower and use sand as needed to prevent slick conditions.
Repair flooring as required, to include stretching carpet, and tile repairs.
Perform sheetrock repairs.
Perform minor electrical repairs.
Perform minor plumbing work such as cleaning stoppages, replacing fittings, etc.
Replace broken glass, screens, fixtures, appliances, window coverings and locks.
Perform painting of apartments as needed.
Perform or assist contractor with water and sewer line repairs.
Custodial work in community rooms and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning windows.
Repair fencing when required.
Cleaning of vacant units; receives priority of work to perform from the Community Manager or the Facilities Manager.
Care and timely maintenance of all equipment entrusted to his/her/their care.
Maintain maintenance and cleaning supplies and request re-ordering of those supplies in a timely manner from the Community Manager or the Facilities Manager.
Always maintain awareness of proper safety precautions.
Wear support belt, use safety equipment (goggles, masks, and gloves, etc.) as tasks dictate.
On-call for emergencies
Be aware of all utility shut offs; shutting off immediately as needed in the event of fire or flood.
Make sure storage areas and entrances are locked, and adequate lighting in those areas is maintained.
Have knowledge regarding contracts and suppliers, their services, goods, and prices.

Salary: This position is based on the range 48G of the Washington State Classification Listing, which has a minimum annual salary of $60,132 and maximum annual salary of $69,744. Read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics and technical manuals
Working knowledge in MS Office and on-line work order systems
Any licenses or permits required by law for specific job functions, including possessing a good driving record
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and other associates
Interpersonal skills necessary to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction
