Follow cleanroom protocols, PPE, and safety standards consistently.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and observations.
Collaborate with Engineering, trainers, and senior technicians.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
To manage the set-up and operation of all production equipment including but not limited to, weighing equipment, blenders, encapsulation equipment, and capsule dedusting equipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operation of weighing equipment, blender(s), encapsulation equipment, capsule dedusting equipment, packaging line equipment; filling/counting machine, heat sealer and labeler.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with housekeeping safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
Adhere to cGMP's guidelines regarding hygiene and cleanliness and SOPs (standard operating procedures).
Perform all weighing, blending, encapsulation, capsule dedusting and packaging functions.
Perform all cleaning operations associated with weighing, blending, encapsulation, capsule dedusting packaging line and the packaging areas.
Follow and complete weighing, blending, encapsulation, capsule dedusting and packaging duties as described in the batch production record.
Record all required information on the batch production record and appropriate logs.
Accurately performs all calculations as required by the batch production record and the Production Supervisor.
Performs all functions necessary as required by management to complete the job
Works accurately and diligently to reach set goals/metrics for the shift
Provide coverage in other departments when needed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to read, write, and communicate about work instructions and safety information written in English
Must have the ability to be a team player; problem solve and collaborate with other employees/departments
Must possess basic math and computer skills
Able to work with minimal supervision

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION - CORE:

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION - PRODUCTION:
Follows work instructions and is responsible for good quality
Grinds tubes and belts. Measures work piece dimensions to assess conformance.
Changes sandpaper when required.
Initials work order upon completion of job duty and inspection of work performed as acknowledgment of properly completing task.
Checks thickness gauges for accuracy.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces. Notifies Supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or quality problems.
Inspects ground tubes to meet work instruction requirements.
Performs a combination of production tasks, which may include loading machinery, positioning work, setting up jobs, adjusting and operating machinery.
May load and unload materials, parts or products; stock to designated work areas; pack products and may clean surface of machines and work areas.
Operates machinery and equipment. Inspects ground tubes to meet work instruction requirements.
Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Able to access databases as necessary to retrieve work instructions in order to perform work.
Maintain own productivity while performing the duties mentioned above.
Prepares material to be move to next station.
Checks set-ups at beginning of shift to ensure grinder is in proper operating condition.
Notifies Supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
Follows all safety rule and procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping in department.
Performs other duties as required.

Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our 2nd shift maintenance and QC team in Chester, CT. The Maintenance and Quality Control Technician will be accountable for the general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and be responsible for the quality of produced parts.
This position is full time, on site in Chester, CT 3:30pm through 12:00am. There may be occasional overtime as required by business needs.
Essential Functions:
All aspects of maintenance of the assembly lines and quality control.
Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
Perform advanced troubleshooting to determine necessary repairs.
Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Perform PM (preventative maintenance) on all assembly equipment.
Basic milling and lathe work.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Basic tool repair (grinding, polishing, etc.).
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
Use a pallet jack/forklift.
Read and understand engineering drawings (dimensioning and tolerancing).
Perform tests according to company quality standards; report results to supervisor for analysis and action steps.
Consult with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
Perform critical dimension checks on incoming products and raw materials.
Use calipers, metric tape, and other measuring devices to determine fine color distinctions.
Perform visual quality inspection of incoming finished products.
Perform first-piece inspections and checks as noted on production sheets.
Create NMRs and control rejected material.
Provide support to receiving by identifying material as needed.
Computer data entry using SAP system.
General housekeeping.
Observe all safety requirements.
Must wear safety equipment as required.
