As a member of our employed Radiology and Imaging team, our diagnostic
radiologists play a pivotal role in our integrated care system. To aid in their success, we've invested in state-of-the-art imaging equipment and technologies that
improve our capabilities, including advanced PACS, voice-to-text recognition and communication system, and a robust EMR supported by various AI and post processing tools.

Qualifications
We are seeking MD or DO candidates who are board-certified and trained in
diagnostic radiology. Successful candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment within a vibrant health system.
Compensation and Benefits
Upper echelon guaranteed base salary ($650k for on-site or $550k for remote)
$75k sign-on bonus

Commitment to Care Bonus potential for Qualifying External Candidates This position is accountable to prepare patients and perform routine radiographic procedures in accordance with physicians' orders and the procedure manual. The Diagnostic Technologist produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with appropriate comparison studies and other exam results or pertinent patient information to the Radiologist for timely interpretation. Additionally, the Diagnostic Technologist supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and demonstrates a commitment of quality service to our patients and their families, the community, the physicians, and our Associates.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Prepares patients for radiology examinations by confirming physicians' orders, verifying patients' identities, and obtaining adequate medical histories to ensure the appropriateness of examinations and facilitate timely, accurate diagnosis of the patient.
Performs radiology examinations/procedures on all patient age groups and maintains clinical competency as evidenced by completion of an annual Competency Based Orientation Tool for Radiologic Technology Clinical Associates Level I.
Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, standards, and protocols to ensure effective departmental operations and quality patient care.
Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of diagnostic imaging services/activities.
Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by requiring and supporting the establishment, maintenance, and education of an effective safety management program. Adheres to radiation safety practices for patients, personnel, and self including principles of time, distance, and shielding where possible.
Effectively interacts with students, consistently providing supervision and instruction.
Is supportive of the MWH School of Radiologic Technology and the Radiology cross-training program.
Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services.
Reports, records, and files patient and procedural data in order to accurately document department operations and facilitate timely accurate billing for services.
Maintains competency in the use of iSite PACs, syngo, Soarian, and other information and image management systems.
Participates in Performance Improvement activities for the Diagnostic Section utilizing the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) approach to improvement and incorporates LEAN methodology.
Maintains authority to administer contrast agents and follows established guidelines for the selection/administration of appropriate contrast type, amount, and concentration.
Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to meet the age specific needs of the patient groups identified below under Qualifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
ARRT registered or registry-eligible in Radiologic Technology. (If registry-eligible at time of hire, must pass Registry examination within one year of hire date.)
Completion of accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
VA State Radiologic Technologist License is required for all outpatient facilities.
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
Three years relevant experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Procedure Preparation:
Review the patient's medical history, doctor's orders, and any previous imaging studies to ensure the appropriate MRI procedure is conducted.
Explain the MRI procedure to the patient, addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
Ensure that all necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information, is completed before the procedure.
Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety, such as checking for implanted devices, allergies to contrast agents, or pregnancy.
Prepare and position the MRI room by ensuring the machine and equipment are ready for the procedure.
Conducting MRI Scans:
Operate the MRI machine, adjusting settings (e.g., magnetic field, radiofrequency pulse) to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by the physician.
Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring they are comfortable and aligned to capture the correct images while adhering to safety standards.
Administer contrast agents as prescribed by the physician to enhance image clarity, ensuring the patient is monitored for adverse reactions.
Ensure the patient remains still during the scan to obtain clear, high-resolution images.
Monitor the MRI process to confirm quality imaging, making adjustments to the settings or positioning as necessary.
Patient Safety and Comfort:
Ensure patient safety during the MRI procedure, especially concerning the strong magnetic fields, by verifying that no ferrous or metal objects are present on the patient.
Keep patients informed during the scan, providing reassurance and instructions as needed to ensure comfort.
Monitor the patient's condition, including vital signs, during the scan to detect any potential issues or discomfort.
Ensure proper patient positioning to avoid injuries or discomfort during the imaging process.
Post-Procedure Care:
Assist the patient off the MRI table after the procedure and ensure they are stable and comfortable.
Provide post-procedure instructions, including the use of any follow-up treatments, care for injection sites (if contrast agents were used), and any other aftercare instructions.
Ensure that any required post-scan imaging or additional scans are scheduled as necessary.
Address any immediate concerns or side effects the patient may experience, especially if contrast agents were administered.
Maintenance and Equipment Care:
Ensure that the MRI machine is regularly calibrated and functioning correctly, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients to adhere to infection control protocols.

Job Summary:

Adheres to MRI safety and security practices for patients, personnel, and self-including appropriate screening and instruction for anyone who approaches or enters the magnet room.
Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials by reporting inventory depletion and restocking to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
ARRT registered or registry-eligible in Radiologic Technology. (If registry-eligible at time of hire, must pass Registry examination within one year of hire date.)
Completion of accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
VA State Radiologic Technologist License is required for all outpatient facilities.
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
Three years relevant experience preferred.
