MassDevelopment company history timeline
MassDevelopment formed in 1998 from a merger of the Government Land Bank and Massachusetts Industrial Finance Agency.
The Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority was merged into MassDevelopment in 2010, strengthening the depth of offerings for tax-exempt bond financing of capital projects.
In the fall of 2015, the Executive Director and graduate students from the UMass Design Center in downtown Springfield teamed up with the Transformative Development Fellow from MassDevelopment who was helping to revitalize downtown Springfield.
With all the basics in place, our doors officially opened on June 1st, 2016.
