REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Doctorate degree in Literacy Education, Reading Education, English Education, Language Arts, or a closely related fields (Degree in hand by time of appointment). * Successful teaching experience in secondary reading, literacy, and English language arts (grades 6-12), with a minimum of three years, particularly with culturally and linguistically diverse learners. * Experience in mentoring/advising credential candidates. * Experience in supervising teacher candidates during practicum. * Familiarity with California's academic standards for language arts, Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs). * Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service to the university and to the profession. * Strong skills and experience in lesson planning, teaching effectiveness, assessment, curriculum development, and pedagogy. * A demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with a broad, diverse community. * Demonstrated experience in hybrid mode of instruction. Ability to communicate with parents and/or guardians regarding children's progress EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Education required Teaching credential preferred First Aide Certification EXPERIENCE 1-2 years' experience working with children in an educational setting QUALIFICATIONS Ability to take delegation of work assignments and to follow direction and works well with others.
