    The MN state HIM NPPA practice provides 24/7 coverage. This role will have a home base in New Prague and some travel to the regional sites in Fairmont, Waseca, St. James, Austin and Mankato. NPPAs will serve as an independent provider, collaborating with an on-site physician - teaming up to care for patients on the medical/surgical floor and progressive care unit. NPs / PAs complete admissions, provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, referrals, patient education and complete discharges. Orientation will primarily take place in Mankato and New Prague on the medical/surgical floors, progressive care unit, intensive care unit and CAH expectations.     The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant works both independently and in collaboration with surgical consultants, fellows/residents, nursing and other staff to provide high quality outpatient care in a busy Breast and Melanoma surgical practice. The APP is responsible for performing independent preoperative assessment, coordination of patient care, and patient management for breast and melanoma surgical patients in both the preoperative and postoperative outpatient setting. Time is spent both in independent clinic and in clinic with the surgeons in a collaborative setting. The APP will work alongside another Breast and Melanoma surgery APP and multiple surgical APPs providing care in the outpatient clinic. The APP will also work very closely with our colleagues in Plastic Surgery, Medical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology. This position is 100% outpatient clinic practice with no call, holidays or weekends. Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP. Or, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. Responsibilities The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking to hire additional Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our Minnesota practice. This position will have a primary site in Mankato, MN; however, it is expected to be capable of working in the other sites in the future. The NP/PA will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, and patient education. The NP/PA will also perform a variety of procedures including laceration repair, I&D, lumbar puncture, intubation, non-invasive airway management, fracture reductions, procedural sedation, critical care management, etc. with opportunities to work in solo practice at critical access hospitals.
