The unit provides inpatient and outpatient nursing care to adult patients with solid tumors. Patients may be hospitalized during various stages of the wellness/illness from initial diagnosis through active treatment, recovery, or through end of life. Bed #: 33 Nursing Team Roles: Specific patient care services include chemotherapy, symptom management, antibiotic therapy, infusion therapy, central line care, teaching, discharge planning, and emotional support. The Mayo Nursing Care Model is the nursing care delivery system. For new grad nurses: All newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of practice experience, hired into a scheduled FTE Registered Nurse position on the Rochester campus of Mayo Clinic are automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program. A separate application or enrollment process is not required. All nurses new to Mayo Clinic, regardless of experience, will receive an extensive orientation program. The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.
