Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Operations a. Ensure quality and efficiency in the assigned Patient Care Service units, on a shift to shift basis. b. The Supervisor will monitor and modify patient flow within the departments to maximize efficiency, maintain quality, and promote patient satisfaction. c. The Supervisor will adjust and allocate nursing assignments to meet the needs of the department. d. The Supervisor will assure the reporting, handling, and documentation of all patient incidents, variances in patient care, issues related to substandard quality of care, safety issues, and actual or potential litigation or media situations, occurring during their shift. e. The Supervisor will keep management and staff informed of work related matters on a regular basis. 2. Clinical a. The Supervisor will function as a role model and mentor to all staff. b. The Supervisor may assist with all aspects of patient care on an as-needed basis. c.
