Summary
The primary purpose of the Team Lead is to provide support for Sr. Escorts and supervisors, they conduct rounding, assist supervisors with overseeing patient escorts, and also may have to step in as an escort as needed. The Team Lead is to always provide and display exceptional professional and courteous customer service and demeanor.
Oversees patient transportation activities for assigned shift. Impacts patient care and transportation throughout the institution.
The ideal candidate for the TeamLeader, Patient Transportation will have 3 years of Patient Transportation, Dispatcher experience, healthcare or related to experience to include one year of Lead experience.
SHIFT / HOURS / LOCATION: Monday - Friday (9 AM TO 6 PM) includes rotating holidays and weekends) / 100% ONSITE, SHIFT is subject to change based on operational needs. This position is in the Texas Medical Center.
Job Functions
* Serve as liaison between transportation and support services, coordinating shift activities.
* Oversee and plan daily activities for assigned staff.
* Assist in the orientation and training of new escorts.
* Perform daily inspections of assigned areas to ensure compliance and safety.
* Participate in employee performance evaluations.
* Foster strong relationships with peers and customers, promoting collaboration and providing feedback to leadership for service improvement.
* Assist management in resolving complex issues, investigating complaints, and addressing concerns with professionalism and sensitivity.
* Actively participate in departmental and interdepartmental committees, offering insights and recommendations to enhance service delivery.
* Conduct rounding activities to engage with staff and clients, gather feedback, and strengthen departmental relationships.
* Escort ambulatory patients and those traveling by wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher to their destinations safely and efficiently.

* Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; identify areas for improvement and report findings to management.
* Accurately enter and maintain data in the AMP system, ensuring all operational activities are documented and reported effectively.
* Prepare and present reports on departmental activities, performance metrics, and workflow efficiencies to management and relevant committees.
Staff Engagement and Client Relationship Management
* Complete rounding activities to engage with staff and clients, gather feedback, and foster positive relationships within the department.
* Actively participate in departmental and interdepartmental committees, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance service delivery.
* Assist in developing and maintaining staff schedules; update time and attendance software to reflect accurate staffing levels.
Operational Oversight
* Oversee and monitor daily workflows to ensure adherence to policies and processes, facilitating a smooth and efficient patient transportation experience.
* Serve as a key liaison between escorts, dispatchers, and entry-point staff, ensuring clear communication and coordination of transportation services.
* Support the management of transportation equipment, ensuring all tools and resources are maintained and operational.
* Lead daily huddles to discuss operational updates, address staff concerns, and promote team engagement.
* Provide support in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring continuity of operations and addressing immediate issues as they arise.

Qualifications
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Required: 3 years of patient transportation, dispatching, healthcare or related to experience to include one year in a lead role.
Preferred: Experience in healthcare or direct patient care.

About The Clinical Team Lead, AMPATH/MAPAS Mexico Opportunity
The Department of Population Health, Division of Global Health is seeking a Clinical TeamLeader for our Academic Model Providing Access to Health Care (AMPATH) global health partnership program in Puebla, Mexico. The Clinical TeamLeader will divide time between Austin, Texas and Puebla, Mexico. This is a faculty position at the rank of Instructor, at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin.
The Clinical TeamLeader will work with Chief of the Division of Global Health, the AMPATH/MAPAS Mexico Partnership Director and Clinical Lead, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) leadership and faculty, and Mexican public sector health and community-based partners to primarily advance the non-communicable disease (NCD) program of the AMPATH/MAPAS Mexico partnership, but also to contribute to AMPATH's tripartite mission of care, education and research.
Critical to this role is the leadership, cultural and linguistic skills necessary to develop strong working relationships with our Mexican partners. This is a unique position within the global health space for those interested in pursuing initiatives in partnership with Mexican colleagues that aim to reduce health care inequities faced by people in rural, Puebla, Mexico and in low- and middle-income countries more broadly.
The Clinical TeamLeader will help advance the NCD program in Puebla, Mexico inclusive of training and mentoring of local (Mexican) promotoras (community health workers), home and community-based health promotion and screening for NCDs, and implementation of a group-based NCD care model. Furthermore, the Clinical TeamLeader will help guide the monitoring and evaluation of the NCD care program. Lastly, the Clinical TeamLeader will engage learners from Dell Medical School and BUAP into the AMPATH/MAPAS Mexico program, providing teaching and mentorship.
The Clinical TeamLeader will be offered professional mentorship from the Chief of the Division of Global Health, the Partnershp Director and Clinical Lead of AMPATH/MAPAS Mexico, and other UT Global Health faculty to support the candidate's professional career growth.
Central Health - Clinical Role
The clinical role in Austin will be with Central Health, Austin/Travis County's safety net hospital district who's mission is to create access to healthcare for those who need it most. Clinical opportunities with Central Health will consist of one of the following options, to be determined with the candidate and with Central Health depending on mutual interest and need.
Central Health - Department of High Risk Populations
As a physician in the Department of High-Risk Populations at Central Health, you will be responsible for working with a multidisciplinary team providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to people experiencing homelessness or who are otherwise marginalized or disconnected from care. With a strong commitment to health equity, the Department of High-Risk Populations at Central Health increases access to care for those who need it most.
Within the Department of High-Risk Populations, clinical service lines include the following:
Bridge/Mobile/Street: low barrier, high access care for people experiencing homelessness or who are otherwise disconnected from care at our Hub Bride clinic or at various fixed community-based mobile sites or on street medicine. The goals is to connect patients to comprehensive care and then eventually transition them to aprimary care medical home
Respite: care to eligible patients being discharged from the hospital with no other place to heal, requiring medical stabilization and support and assistance with transition to housing, preventing readmissions and return to homelessness.
Housing for Health: innovative care models for people transitioning from the street or respite into housing, providing the necessary integrated medical and behavioral health care model to meet their needs.
Central Health - Department of Transitions of Care
The Transitions of Care staff physician will oversee patient care, manage clinical teams, and provide direct care to low-income and uninsured patients in post-acute settings such as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), and others including hospitals and home visits. This positions responsibilities encompass acting as an Attending Physician, leading rounds with Advanced Practice Providers in a skilled nursing facility and providing medical care in the home of patients. The staff physician will also collaborate with Nurse Case Managers, Social Workers, Community Health Workers, Physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide care. They may also provide inpatient care in partnership with Dell Medical School and local hospital systems and coordinate transitions of care and navigation services.
Collaborate with APPs, Transitional Care at Home team and the case management team for the Transitional Care at Home program with home visits.
Provide direct patient care in Skilled Nursing Facilities and acute hospital settings.
Serve as an attending physician in SNFs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial institutional and personal relationships with our Mexican academic, government, and community partners as it relates to NCD program
Design the clinical protocols for group-based NCD care model informed by Mexican clinical guidelines and norms, WHO/PAHO protocols and evidence-based resources.
Develop training materials for NCD care model (in Spanish) targeted towards early-stage physicians and primary providers, and promotores comunitarios (CHWs)
Implement, coordinate and lead our group-based care model for individuals living with diabetes and related NCDs including direct oversight and mentorship to BUAP and UT/DMS trainees.
Collaborate with the AMPATH/MAPAS monitoring and evaluation team in the design, collection and review/analysis of NCD data collection.
As designated by AMPATH/MAPAS Mexico Partnership Director and Clinical Lead, provide direct on-site support to administer, and manage external funding for the AMPATH/MAPAS Care program;
Participate in the development of Global Health Division and AMPATH Consortium funding proposals and reports for existing funding.
In collaboration with the AMPATH/MAPAS Partnership Director and Clinical Lead, oversee the development and implementation of didactic and clinical education training programs, for both UT Austin and AMPATH Consortium learners, as well as BUAP learners and other local workforce in Mexico; this may include including development and evaluation of the educational curriculum, delivery of educational programming, supporting visiting trainees and faculty during their time in Puebla and overall ensuring their alignment with the mission of the AMPATH/MAPAS México program as well as with respective institutional (i.e., UT and BUAP) standards;
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to faculty and residents in scholarship, teaching and service as it relates to their engagement in the AMPATH/MAPAS México program.

Required:
