Responsibilities:
The Fleet Mechanic position is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment as assigned.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all fleet vehicles within assigned Primo Water North America locations.
Respond to field service calls.
Order mechanical components, services and parts and maintain inventory.
Perform and document all phases of vehicle maintenance and repair, including diagnostics.
Maintain communication with drivers and management regarding maintenance and service of vehicles and equipment.
Maintain a unit history file for each vehicle.
Qualifications:
Ability to secure and/or maintain a CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement (for applicable CDL positions)
BlueTriton is a certified CDL provider and can assist you with obtaining your Class B CDL
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
Service-oriented with strong face-to-face sales skills
Ability to work independently, efficiently, and in different types of weather
Ability to effectively interact with customers in a variety of settings
Ability to lift and carry an average of 250+ units per day, each weighing up to 45 lbs., using product handling tools as appropriate, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to climb in and out of a commercial vehicle on average 40-55 times per day

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our dedicated maintenance team at the railyard. In this essential role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems on a fleet of semi-trucks, trailers, and hostler vehicles. You will ensure all equipment is kept in top working condition by performing regular maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring safety standards are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines (Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit) to maintain optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, ensuring all wiring and components are functioning correctly.
Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and hostler trucks to minimize downtime.
Conduct full vehicle assessments and execute timely repairs on both scheduled and unscheduled service calls.
Maintain detailed service records of work completed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.

Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic, with experience on semi-trucks, trailers, or hostler vehicles.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and mechanical repairs, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Ability to work with schematics and troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
Familiarity with maintenance scheduling systems and keeping accurate service records.
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
Experience with hostlers and forklifts is a plus
Experience with electric trucks is a plus
Knowledge of all diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, cooling, and exhaust
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions

A high school graduate or equivalent is preferred; plus, demonstrated proficiency or trade related schooling in such fields as welding, machine shop, industrial electricity, introductory drafting, PLC, pipe fitting or diversified applied trade experience [preferably within a fast moving consumer goods manufacturing environment (e.g. food, pharmaceutical, soft drink, etc.)].Ability to use hand tools and power tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver, wrench, drills, grinders etc.).
Must be able to read and interpret machinery and electrical blueprints/schematics and apply set-up and follow maintenance manual instructions.
Must have the ability to recognize unsafe machine conditions and correct them.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks
Must possess the ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external customers, function as a team player, accept constructive criticism from management and comply with Company policies.
Additional Qualifications
Good interpersonal skills are required to interact with internal customers.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
Must have rudimentary computer skills in a Windows environment necessary to the maintenance of records on a PC based system. (Microsoft Word and Excel is beneficial.)
Willingness to accept other duties and responsibilities as required by the Production Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering Team.

Job Duties
* Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
* Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
* Maintain a service van and its inventory.
* Process paperwork after completion of each job.
Minimum Qualifications
* Less than 2 years related experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
Preferred Qualifications
* Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
* Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
* Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
* Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment.
* Industry related training is preferred
* Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through
