The Energy Engineer or Project Manager will identify and evaluate opportunities in capital project planning and design

Position Responsibilities
* Identifying and clarifying clients' corporate sustainability goals and coordinating the other
disciplines' design alignment with the overall project drivers and goals.
* Energy modeling and managing energy model development and deliverables of others
* Capital project energy benchmarking, planning and analysis at the campus, building and system level
* Evaluation of major plant equipment, utility generation and MEP and Process systems for energy
conservation opportunities.
* Electrification studies including coordination with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and local

* Architectural and Mechanical/energy-related support for applicable LEED credits
* Support energy audits for various facility types
* Identification of retrofit/upgrade strategies for HVAC systems to reduce annual energy consumption
* Perform Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) to evaluate the total cost of owning, operating,
maintaining, and disposing of an asset.

**Overview**
The Electrical Energy Engineer for the Development Team is responsible for independently assessing building electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects. Analysis will include participation in technical studies, investigations, and development of energy-efficient scope on assigned projects.
**Responsibilities**
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget, and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications.
- Leads, schedules, and conducts site surveys to determine existing facility electrical equipment, interconnection, metering, and conditions independently. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient scope of schematic design phase of projects.
- Performs electrical system calculations including solar energy generation, battery sizing, generator power system sizing, wire and panel sizing, electric vehicle charging, etc.
- Interacts in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed independently; prepares meeting notes.
- Designs and prepares documentation for electrical systems for projects including solar arrays, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging systems, combined heat & power systems, central energy plant expansion needs, and demand response programs.
- Assists Mechanical Survey Team with necessary electrical infrastructure designs to support proposed mechanical equipment changes/upgrades. Can include design work involving switchgears, switchboards, manual/automatic transfer switches, transformers, metering, and generators.
- Assists all Renewables Team members with questions concerning electrical engineering design, codes, and one line diagram creation.
- Assists the development team in the coordination with other disciplines, including energy modeling, demand management, financial modeling, lighting, detailed design, etc.
- Assist the Director-DER with Quality Control reviews of project work by other team members.
- Attends and/or teaches in-house and external training sessions in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
- Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
- Upholds company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
- Supervises less experienced engineers, technicians, and/or analysts while managing specific projects.
This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Director-DER of the Development Team.
**Qualifications**
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited university.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude.
- Required experience in Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
