Kodiak is seeking a resourceful individual with broad knowledge and understanding of HVAC and related systems to join our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of HVAC activities for commercial and industrial customers. We are looking for someone who can contribute, grow, think, and create.
This is not a remote position. Candidates must live within a reasonable commute distance to our office in Tacoma, WA (or plan to relocate prior to hire date).
SALARY RANGE: $150,000 to $165,000 per year
JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES (other duties may be assigned)
Work with Sales and Project Managers to provide timely field-related design solutions for our customers
Analyze customer specifications and performance requirements to determine mechanical designs
Assist with budgets, pre-contract designs and presentations
Active participant in all aspects of system design process: research, design, load calculations for system sizing, layout, sizing of components, equipment selection
Manage projects with both internal and external deadlines and changing time constraints
Design all details for construction required elements for installation
Assure all code requirements are met providing necessary information for permit application
Produce O&M's, Commissioning and other documents required for project communication and completion
Perform site surveys as required to verify details necessary for complete and accurate design
Monitor design standards and implement/practice quality control
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Three years related experience in HVAC or construction industry
Related experience in plumbing design preferred, but not required
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CAD, Revit a plus
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with HVAC principles and technical applications
Ability to comprehend and implement applicable HVAC related federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
Read, analyze, and interpret information including blueprints, drawings, and equipment specifications

We are seeking an Avionics Mechanical Manager to lead the design and development of mechanical solutions for component packaging and launch vehicle integration of flight avionics hardware for Nova's first and second stages. Responsibilities
Own the technical roadmap for stage avionics mechanical design on current and future vehicles
Lead the execution of avionics mechanical designs from concept through release, build, testing, and vehicle-level operations
Hire, grow, and mentor a team of avionics mechanical engineers
Provide technical coaching in areas such as structures, avionics, thermodynamics, and rocket operations
Maintain a culture of integrity, reliability, and fast iteration

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in design, build, analysis and/or testing of avionics mechanical systems or similar

Proficiency with relevant CAD and analysis tools (NX, ANSYS, Excel, Matlab, or equivalent)
Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout

About this Role
Project Engineer
Potelco, Inc.'s Engineering Department is seeking a Project Engineer I to join the Transmission Team in Sumner, WA. This position supports our Puget Sound Energy (PSE) contract and will evaluate Joint Use applications for pole attachment and other PSE projects. As a Project Engineer I, this position is expected to have at minimum one year of directly applicable experience within an electric utility or telecommunications position, preferably using PLS-CADD. Candidates with no prior applicable industry experience may be hired at the Associate Project Engineer level.
The Project Engineer I is responsible for reviewing communications customer applications within the PSE service region. They will utilize FEA within a 3D modeling software to analyze electrical transmission support structures for strength capacity and clearance distance requirements with the additional loading from fiber optic cables, cellular arrays, and other forms of equipment. The engineer is responsible for verifying that the scope sufficiently meets the requirements as set forth by the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), Washington Administrative Code (WAC), and various other codes established by local and state jurisdictions. They will recommend and design solutions to mitigate structural and clearance non-conformances where identified, based on PSE design standards for transmission and distribution infrastructure.
The pay range for this role is $32-$46/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
What You'll Do
* Engineer will primarily work independently on individual projects, collaborating with other group members and departments as needed.
* Review customer application documents, notifications and scopes of work, and work collaboratively with our customers to resolve inconsistencies.
* Perform field site visits to gather and verify project and existing equipment information
* Read and interpret utility standards, the National Electrical Safety Code, Washington Administrative Code, as well as county and city jurisdictional requirements to analyze transmission structures, evaluate clearances, and design replacements.
* Utilize field notes, LiDAR, mapping software, records, photos, and any other pertinent resources to complete 3D modeling for analysis and reporting.
