Proven experience in cybersecurity roles, emphasizing embedded systems, network, and application security.
Security Implementation: Develop and implement robust security measures to protect camera devices, web applications, and data infrastructure from unauthorized access and potential threats.
Data Management and Query Optimization: Manage and optimize data queries in Snowflake, ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and compliance with data governance standards.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM solutions, and more.
Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).

UW Facilities manages the University's buildings, infrastructure and land, with more than 1,100 employees in a variety of fields. The Asset Management group includes Capital & Space Management, Real Estate, Sustainability and other teams responsible for planning and workload management. The Operations group includes Project Delivery, Maintenance & Construction, Campus Energy, Utilities & Operations, Building Services, Transportation Services and Safety. **Campus Energy, Utilities & Operations has an outstanding opportunity for** **Facilities Energy Engineers, Energy Conservation** **to provide engineering and technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and recommending energy saving capital investments in the University of Washington facilities and campus infrastructure** . This position conducts facility energy assessments and audits involving operational observation, testing, evaluation and measurement of energy consuming equipment, systems and controls. This position is responsible for the monitoring and management of campus energy consumption. This position prepares capital scope, schedule and budget documents required to realize such investments. This position is essential to UW commitments to reduce utility consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
**Program Operations 20%**
+ Prepare and maintain baseline information on key energy parameters (i.e. Compressed Air, Lighting, Building Envelope, HVAC, etc.) relative to applicable significant energy consuming activities within the university.
**Budget/Financial 30%**
+ Conduct periodic energy audits and assessments to determine the energy cost savings opportunities and report progress work with UW Facilities personnel as required maximizing non-capital opportunities (i.e., leaking valves, non-functioning economizers, programming adjustments, operating procedures and schedules, etc.)
+ Develop and maintain a current energy savings project and opportunities list to assist with forecasting the utility budget for the university.
+ Review proposals and provide energy conservation input on new capital investments, and equipment replacements.
+ Assist the university and campus engineering on executing scheduling and prioritizing energy savings projects
+ Attend all required meetings and training.
+ Perform related duties as assigned and required.

+ Will work directly with department heads, directors, managers, supervisors, skilled trade's leads and staff, capital projects office personnel, contractors, and office staff on the Seattle campus, and will be responsible for coordinating with construction and maintenance personnel, and planners to ensure that systems remain operational and in continuous compliance with regulatory requirements.
**Education & Experience**
**Required**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or degree in engineering technologies or facility engineering
+ Must have (5) years' experience in conducting energy audits and/or building engineering design, and/or managing development of capital projects, and/or directing, managing and inspecting facilities maintenance and construction work.
+ Analytical skills: to assess problems and situations, develop recommendations and implement solutions, including economic justifications and, to perform detailed energy consumption analyzes including data mining of HVAC direct digital control user interface reporting systems, utility bill data, and field deployed data logging and monitoring devices.
+ Interpersonal skills to facilitate effective interactions with team member's internal and external customers, and vendors/suppliers/contractors.
+ Strong verbal written communication skills to present ideas, findings and recommendations in a logical clear manner and negotiate and persuade effectively.
+ Competencies in energy engineering analysis methods necessary to comply with utility energy conservation incentive programs: measurement and verification processes.
+ Ability to respond to emergencies and changing needs.
+ Ability to develop, plan, direct, and coordinate programs and projects.
+ Demonstrated successful ability in taking direction, working well with others and as a member of a team.

+ Must be able to work outside normal and regular business/office hours and working days to fulfill responsibilities of this position.
+ Must participate in medical screening/monitoring (such as TB screening and proof of measles inoculation) required for work assignments in locations, including but not limited to, nonhuman primate areas, the Animal Research and Care Facility, and the University of Washington Medical Center.
+ Requires the ability to work in both office and field environments, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment as required.
+ Must be able to work in mechanical/electrical spaces, including utility tunnels, outdoors, and confined spaces and around operating equipment such as boilers, pumps and transformers.
