Mechanical Industries company history timeline

1847

The invention of the steam engine in the latter part of the 18th century, providing a key source of power for the Industrial Revolution, gave an enormous impetus to the development of machinery of all types. As a result, a new major classification of engineering dealing with tools and machines developed, receiving formal recognition in 1847 in the founding of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Birmingham, Eng.

1907

This also led to research into how to manage forest land and influenced the relatively new field of ecology. It was around this time, in 1907, that Wyoming became the first state to license engineers professionally.

1908

Ford launched his Model T in 1908, producing just 11 automobiles in the first month.

1927

Then, in 1927, Ford produced a whopping 15 million cars alongside tractors and other machinery.

1933

With the birth of the Institute for Industrial Reconstruction in 1933, Italy once again experienced a positive moment, having to reorganize itself following the autarchy imposed by the fascist regime.

1948

In 1948 the Italian mechanical engineering industry began the struggle to recover again, with a production that accounted for approximately 15% of the entire national industrial system and exports able to reach 21% of the total Italian value.

1970

Since 1970, the sector has slowly risen to prominence as the most important in the country, despite having to face the problem of uncertainty in energy prices and the slow but inexorable decline in investments.

1992

Having taken the hit of the 1992 currency crisis, the mechanical engineering industry was among the few to drive a new phase of growth towards the new millennium.

2019

SoFlo currently brings in average revenue of $15,000 a month and has seen a linear increase in student sign-ups each month since its official inception in March 2019.
