CLERICAL

Complies with HMA policies and procedures and accreditation agencies, OSHA, etc.

Under general supervision, but in line with established PC&HC policies and Procedures perform clinical tasks to keep the practitioners and providers flow of patients running smoothly.
Essential Functions
Represent PC&HC to patients/visitors in a caring, courteous, and professional manner.
Provide prompt, efficient and accurate patient care.
Prepare exam room for use and sterilizes equipment and supplies.
Conduct daily health center room clean-up
Escort patients to exam room determining chief complaint and pertinent history.

Perform laboratory tests of minimal to moderate complexity, including completion of lab requisitions per computer and paper.
Schedules external imaging for patients.
Complete Prior Authorizations (PA's) for provider as requested.
Assure all lab specimens have been picked up at day end.
Ensure the infection control standards and OSHA standards are followed and hazardous waste is properly disposed.
Improve the patient experience and health care processes and help assure the provision of high quality health care, as well as an ongoing process of performance improvement.
Complete all required paperwork.
Plan and organize work load to maintain efficient patient operations in the Health Center.
Maintain a strong patient focus while working collaboratively within the teams multiple demands and patient needs.
Keep work area and patient rooms clean and free of clutter.
Treat all patient information confidentially and in accordance with established guidelines.
Marginal Functions
Assist other nurses as needed due to schedule overload or fill-in for absenteeism, including at other PC&HC locations.
