Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
Collect patient information, vital signs (BP, TPR, height/weight), and age-specific measurements
Assist with medical procedures and administer treatments such as nebulizers, oxygen therapy, wound care, EKGs, and more
Prepare and administer immunizations and injections (as delegated)
Support laboratory functions: specimen collection, preparation, and packaging
Perform routine x-ray and lab procedures under provider supervision
Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated materials according to protocol
Clerical Duties
Document check-in procedures and manage patient medical records
Gather and file diagnostic reports for provider review
Complete non-medical portions of patient forms and requisitions
Assist with appointment scheduling, referrals, and distribution of test results
Maintain daily workflow with efficiency and confidentiality
Unit Maintenance
Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment
Clean and restock examination and treatment areas
Ensure readiness of exam rooms and patient care environments
Quality Assurance
Participate in staff and committee meetings
Engage in quality improvement activities, including closing care gaps (e.g., A1C, immunizations)
Follow infection-control protocols and safety guidelines

Requirements

Job Summary
Provides residents with services in accordance with health care provider's orders regarding administration or assistance with medications and treatments, as per state regulations. Provides direct care to residents following the individualized service plan.
Essential Functions
Assists in maintaining the physical, social, and psychological environment that is conducive to the best interest and welfare of the residents.
Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the performance of personnel tasks with the understanding that the responsibilities are not routine or limited to resident care matters. Maintains a clean, safe, environment in the community by delegating job responsibilities.
As per state regulations and completion of required training/certification, administers medication and treatments as prescribed by the health care provider. Observes resident's responses to existing treatment plan, is aware of prominent medication interactions and side effects, and observes residents for occurrence of such and notifies supervisor. Adheres to community infection control policies and procedures.
Assists residents with medication as defined in medication procedure. Exhibits understanding of and follows medication policies and procedures.
Maintains residents' records daily in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedure. This includes documentation related to: medication distribution, leisure activities; incidents and observations; charting any changes in resident's physical condition and or behaviors, visitors, etc. Observes and documents the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the supervisor.
Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
Receives reports on all residents.
Completes an accurate accounting of all medications, including controlled substances as per policy.
Assists with completion of medication cart audits per policy and direction of supervisor.
Provides direct resident care.
Follows procedure regarding incidents/accidents to residents.

Education and Experience

As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering top-notch care to our patients. We provide a range of services including urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will assist the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge.
Responsibilities:
Our Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care
Triage patients promptly and in line with clinic procedures to ensure smooth workflow.
Document vital signs, weight, and any updates to the patient's medical history prior to each visit.
Perform lab tests in compliance with clinical guidelines and medical provider instructions.
Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
Prepare examination rooms for patient appointments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
Position patients for x-rays following provider directives.
Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
