The Medical Assistant administers health questionnaire to patients; Act as a chaperone by accompanying the clinician in the exam room for any intimate exam; Update patient information in Epic (EMR system); Manage in-basket messages; Takes patient history & vital signs; Prepares patients for exam & treatment; Prepares exam rooms w/ necessary equipment & supplies; Assists with scheduling of tests & treatments; Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, and confidentiality and privacy policies; Maintain competency in the use of clinical equipment and procedure; Connect language interpretation service for the clinician when needed; Assists with administrative tasks as needed; Explores community resources available to meet the patient's needs; Maintain ongoing networking efforts w/community providers in the area; Perform other related duties as needed. Job Qualification/Requirements: Professional positive attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position. Education: Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Experience: Experience in a clinical setting. Familiarity working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) helpful. Language Skills: Bilingual: Spanish-English or English/Creole helpful ; Demonstrate the ability to effectively interpret medical terminology Licensure / Certification : Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or in process of acquiring Certification, a plus.
