Clinical Coordinator, School of Radiation Therapy Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The School of Radiation Therapy is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support both the clinical and didactic education of Radiation Therapy students. In this role, you will supervise students in clinical settings, instruct assigned coursework, coordinate rotations, and ensure compliance with JRCERT accreditation standards. The Clinical Coordinator in the School of Radiation Therapy plays a central role in advancing the clinical and didactic education of students in both junior and senior cohorts. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Clinical Coordinator, manages and instructs didactic course work as assigned, oversees clinical education, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards set by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The clinical coordinator is expected to support the program director to assure effective program operations inclusive of recruitment and workshops during and outside of standard operational hours. This role requires a consistent on-site presence during assigned student clinical and didactic hours, campus and frequency may vary depending on operational needs and in alignment with JRCERT standards. The breakdown of responsibilities outlined below serves as a general guideline and may be modified as operational needs evolve. Role Overview: Oversee students during clinical rotations, ensuring compliance with school and hospital policies. Maintain accurate records, lead rotation schedules, and conduct competency reviews and spot‑check assessments. Provide hands‑on and simulation-based instruction, including VERT Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure the progress of the students and obtain evaluations as scheduled. Work with therapists, managers, and the LRCP to support student learning. Participate in meetings and site visits, maintain required instructor/preceptor lists, and ensure all clinical activities meet educational and regulatory requirements. Provide students direct supervision, guidance and remediation, track competencies, document counseling sessions, and assign clinical grades. Instruct assigned didactic courses, develop instructional materials and assessments, and maintain academic records. Coordinate with other academic and clinical faculty to facilitate an oversight of instruction as assigned by the program director. Assist with entrance exams, interviews, application review, orientation, open houses, and recruitment events (occasionally outside standard hours). Contribute to data collection, assessment, accreditation activities, and attend program advisory, and LRCP meetings Job duties may be adjusted, expanded, or reassigned at any time to meet the changing needs of the organization, at the discretion of the Program Director. The responsibilities of the Vascular Institute / Interventional Radiology RN include, but are not limited to: Assists the entire interventional radiology team in providing patient care, through the continuum of care for various diagnostic and interventional procedures; Performs assessments, obtains medical history, provides education to the patient and families about planned tests and procedures; Screens and monitors the patient throughout diagnostic procedures, initiating IV access and administering appropriate medications as per radiologist orders and protocols Assists with central line placements; Assists, as necessary, during complex procedures; Administration of and monitoring during moderate sedation; Completes required documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR); Acts as point of contact for referrals and patients; Attends and assists with patient consultations; Initiates and follows pre-procedure protocols to optimize patient care during procedures and tests; Facilitates patient discharge and provides patient and family education regarding discharge instructions to ensure safe transition to home and follow-up care following procedure; Ensures communication of patient status and results is provided to all involved members of the healthcare team; Demonstrates appropriate level of empathy, understanding and interest in the needs of all patients referred to AMI, and acts as a patient advocate and radiologist liaison; Performs office related tasks and projects to ensure the efficient, orderly and safe delivery of patient care; and Performs other duties as required and assigned. This part time, 24 hour per week position includes a work schedule of three (3) eight (8) hour shifts per week between the hours of 7am-5:30pm on weekdays. There are no nights, weekends, or call with this position. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a current and valid RN license in the State of New Jersey. Candidates are required to have current BLS & ACLS certifications. Previous experience in Interventional Radiology, Critical Care, Cath Lab, Endo or PACU strongly preferred. Experience caring for patients receiving conscious sedation preferred; sedation certification completion required within thirty (30 days) of start of employment. Candidates must possess proven working skills for IV therapy techniques and dispensing/administering medications. Advanced clinical skills and a strong foundation in clinical judgment and critical thinking are necessary for success in this position. Intermediate computer skills are required. Candidates must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can adapt quickly in emergent situations.
