    Current Opening: * Part-time * Includes rotating weekends and holidays The Cook assists management in providing meals for residents, guests, and staff. This role safely prepares food according to recipes or instructions and helps control costs through proper use of food and supplies. This position is performed in accordance with TANDEM LIVING Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Formal culinary education or prior experience in an institutional food service setting preferred. * Experience in food preparation and following standardized recipes. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: * Maintains kitchen operations in the absence of Managers or Sous Chefs and assists with completing closing procedures for both back-of-house and front-of-house staff. * Prepares and cooks assigned menu items following standardized recipes and daily production sheets, sampling food during preparation to identify potential quality issues and reporting any concerns to management. * Completes all required daily, weekly, and monthly quality key indicator procedures and logs in accordance with department standards. * Ensures proper food safety and storage by rotating items according to the dating system, following ServSafe guidelines, and reporting any questionable food to the Manager before cooking or discarding. * Demonstrates fundamental culinary skills including food preparation, production, portion control, slicing, and cutting.
