The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation, in diagnostic radiology.
Essential Functions:
• Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
• Positions and immobilizes patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
• Verifies informed consent and completes pre and post procedure documentation.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures. Applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.
Education:
Associates from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications:
Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required)
State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)

Experience:

The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation, in diagnostic radiology.
Essential Job Functions:
* Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
* Positions and immobilizes patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
* Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
* Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
* Verifies informed consent and completes pre and post procedure documentation.
* Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures. Applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.
* Performs timeout as required per policy.
* Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
* Receives relays and documents verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.
* Evaluates images for technical quality.
* Documents patient dose exposures.
* Professionally interacts with physicians, technologist, physician offices, hospital staff, patient family members and patients.
* Operates radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with the principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable).

The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.
- Performs computed tomography procedures.
- Performs timeout as required per policy.
- Properly positions patients on CT scanning cradles and properly immobilizes patients with appropriate devices to obtain desired position.
- Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
- Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
- Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
- Participates in on call rotation as required.

Safely performs provider ordered radiographic examinations, including but not limited to proper patient positioning, immobilization, and utilizing appropriate radiation protection.
Sets up and adjusts supportive and immobilization equipment and devices as required by individual cases. Positions and handles patients with a high degree of safety and professionalism
Accurately documents patient encounters within Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment
Maintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs. Collect patient specimens and runs point of care lab tests. Travel to other facilities for BSMH providers or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager may also be required.
Directs and practices sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination of disease
Reports immediately any malfunction, necessary adjustments or repairs of equipment to supervisor
Other duties include but not limited to ordering supplies, lab and diagnostic tests, disposes of contaminated supplies, patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, check-in/check-out and performing scribing duties as needed basis.

Job Summary:
The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation, in diagnostic radiology.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a way that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.
Essential Job Functions
* Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.
* Performs computed tomography procedures.
* Performs timeout as required per policy.
* Properly positions patients on CT scanning cradles and properly immobilizes patients with appropriate devices to obtain desired position.
* Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
* Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
* Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
* Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
* Participates in on call rotation as required.
