1867 Merrimack County Savings Bank is founded.

1869

Since our inception in 1869, Meredith Village Savings Bank has provided a safe, convenient place to save money and help people achieve their financial and personal goals.

1875

1875 Savings Bank of Walpole is founded.

1907

In March 1907, the New York Stock Exchange goes into decline, and public panic leads to runs on banks.

1913

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 is established, where the Federal Reserve System, also known as the Fed, is put in place.

1927

The McFadden Act of 1927 establishes the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) as a permanent central bank.

1933

By 1933, depositors saw $140 billion disappear through bank failures.

The Banking Act of 1933 establishes the FDIC, and gives them authority to provide deposit insurance to banks.

2002

2002 The New Hampshire Trust Company is chartered as a trust and investment management firm, serving individual investors, corporations and non-profits.

2013

2013 Meredith Village Savings Bank and Merrimack County Savings Bank create a formal relationship as NH Mutual Bancorp.

2015

2015 MillRiver Wealth Management joined sister banks, Merrimack County Savings Bank and Meredith Village Savings Bank as the third subsidiary of New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp on April 1.

2018

2018 Savings Bank of Walpole joins New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) as a third sister bank.

2019

2019 NHTrust is formed when MillRiver Wealth Management acquires The New Hampshire Trust Company and also adds the financial advisory division of Savings Bank of Walpole.
