Metrc CEO and leadership

Michael Johnson is the Chief Financial Officer of Metrc, responsible for driving the financial decisions made by the company. Prior to joining Metrc. Michael served as CFO at Informed DNA in St. Petersburg, Florida, and CM Group Global, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jeff is the co-founder of Metrc’s precursor, Franwell, and served as its CEO from 1993 until 2011. He also serves as the Chair of Metrc’s board. Jeff has spent more than 30 years in software development and more than 15 years in the development of RFID technology.

Jesse was named Metrc’s first Chief Product Officer in 2021. He previously served as the company’s CTO, leading the company’s software development efforts since 2012. Jesse has been a key part of Metrc’s software administration, development, and support since joining the company.

Lewis joined Metrc in March 2019. Previously, Lewis helped build the first state agency in the U.S. to develop and implement medical and adult-use cannabis policy, serving as the director of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division.

Zahid took the role as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Metrc in 2021. He has more than three decades of experience in Information Technology and software development and has been with Metrc since 2017, where he worked to implement Metrc’s system in California.

Muhammet Hamdi Yavuz is a Chief Software Architect at Hardware Development Group at Metrc and is based in Ankara, Ankara Province, Turkey. He has worked as Director of Simulation and Avionic Systems at Gate Elektronik A.Ş., Director of Simulation Systems at Sigun Information Technologies and Consultancy, and C++ Chief Software Architect at OPTIVA INC. Muhammet works or has worked at Middle East Technical University. He attended Gazi University between 2003 and 2009, TOBB Ekonomi ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi between 2009 and 2010, and Ankara Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi.
