Metro Transmission and Automotive company history timeline

1983

Initially opened in October 1983 by Bob Grant and Mike Johnson (Bob’s son-in-law), Metro Transmission started out as a small transmission repair shop.

1986

Metro continued to grow over the next several years and in 1986, Rick (Bob’s youngest son) came to work for Bob and Mike.

1991

But the title says 1991 Chevy Geo Metro Lsi.

1995

In the year 1995, the Metro underwent redesigning to give it an appearance that is more modern.

2000

They performed minor re-styling, enhanced its headlamps and even boosted 4 cylinder engine to produce 79 horsepower (an equivalence of 80PS OR 59kW). The 2000 model was the final production of the 3-cylinder engine and the Metro hatchback.

2005

In 2005, after 50 years of being in the automotive industry, Bob retired, and Rick and Michelle proudly took over the partnership with Mike and his wife Brenda.
