Gerald Pelletier, a Canadian immigrant, started the business in 1959 in his West Hartford home, building out basements and doing simple remodeling.
She and her two older sisters had grown up in Farmington, and she earned a degree in finance from Bentley University in 1990.
Many ancient Egyptian drawings going back to 2000 B.C. depict wood furnishings such as beds, chairs, stools, tables, beds, and chests.
Fekete, 47, had four young children when she came to work in her father's company in 2006.
Fekete concedes that the years since the recession took hold in 2008 have been challenging for the company as they have been for the retail industry.
