The brewery was originally founded in 1985 by a group of Amana business partners.
The result was the opening of Peace Tree's 20-barrel brewhouse and taproom in 2009.
In 2012, Simmons was among a group of business partners from Old Man River Brewing in McGregor, Iowa, who opened Backpocket's expansive brewhouse and taproom on Coralville's Iowa River Landing.
Blonde Fatale, a Belgian-style ale, won a gold medal at the 2014 World Beer Cup and is a best seller for the company.
Established by Francis Smedley, with brewing commencing spring 2016.
