In 1955, the Dallas Railway & Terminal Company changed its name to the Dallas Transit Company, and on Jan.

1956

15, 1956, the last streetcar traveled from Oak Cliff to East Dallas.

1964

In 1964, Dallas Transit Company was purchased by the city of Dallas and was renamed Dallas Transit System.

1975

In 1975, Sam Walton visited a Korean tennis ball factory where workers began their day with a company cheer.

1987

In 1987, DTS merged with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), which took over DTS operations.

Sam leads his associates in a rousing Walmart cheer in 1987.

1988

Sam watches a group of associates proclaim, "It's my Walmart!" during the Walmart cheer at a shareholders’ meeting, 1988.

1997
