The primary responsibility of the Security Office is ensuring the safety, security and well-being of guests and colleagues in accordance with hotel security and safety standards and brand standards. Monitor all areas within the property and access points around the property to ensure they are safe and secure at all times. Must maintain a high level of visibility to deter undesirable activity. Using your training and expertise, understand how to effectively deal with disorderly hotel guests and patrons. Brief the Director or Assistant Director on all matters of high importance before concluding the shift. Supports departmental leadership to perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous, poised and professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
Must be familiar with the responsibilities that come with the position during the day, evening and overnight Security and Safety shifts.
Must be flexible with scheduling.
Must have a thorough understanding of, and adhere to, the Security and Safety Departments Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOP).
Must have a thorough understanding of, and adhere to, The Langham Brand and Quality Standards.
Protect colleagues, guests and company assets by providing a safe and secure hotel environment.
Responsible for securing the building, including monitoring, patrolling, inspecting and securing all entrances and exits and surveillance of person(s) in all areas of hotel property.
Respond effectively to all guest and colleague inquiries and/or concerns.
Working knowledge of the Emergency Procedures Manual.
Serve on Emergency Response Team for any emergency situation.
Willing and able to provide basic first aid to injured colleagues or guests. Upon assessment of the injury, make recommendations to the injured person as to any additional medical attention that may be required or requested.
Willing and able to participate in AED/CPR training for certification.
Inspect and ensure the proper function and use of all life and safety equipment as required.
Conducts random bag checks for colleagues and visitors at the colleague entrance.
Inspect packages entering and/or leaving the property.
Inspect all items being discarded or removed from property. Ensure that colleagues have a property pass signed by an Executive member.
Possess knowledge of the chemicals that are used throughout the hotel and their dangers.
Must attend, conduct and participate in daily Show Times with colleagues or management.
Assist with door lock problems, coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm and professional manner.
Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the safety of hotel guests, patrons, colleagues and property.
Memorize, monitor and inspect the locations of the Fire Life Safety Systems and equipment in the building (e.g. AED's, exits, alarm pull stations, fire extinguishers and sprinklers).
Ensure that designated hotel facilities are locked or unlocked during designated times.
Review the daily business levels (e.g. in-house groups, Banquet functions and Guest/VIP arrival/departure information) to anticipate critical situations and plan effective solutions to best expedite these solutions.
Act as liaison between guests and the hotel relating to the Standard Operating Policies and Procedures during both guest and employee related incidents.
Ensure all shift paperwork and log entries are fully completed, proof-read and filed or saved appropriately.
Ensure all Lost and Found items are properly logged and stored, and ensure that the inventory is never compromised.
Ensure all packages are properly logged, stored and controlled for all packages that are delivered to the hotel or shipped from the hotel.
Ensure that all deliveries received are accounted for upon receipt.
Ensure Key Control and other control measures are adhered to at all times.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Loss Prevention.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to walk, run and stand for long periods of time and great distances.
Must be able to walk up and down stairs (may have to run of some occasions).
May be required to sit for periods of time while processing reports.
Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull a minimum of 25 pounds of weight.
May be required to work outside of the building or on the plaza adjacent to the hotel for periods of time during events or special situations.
Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of handling all types of emergencies, people and stressful situations.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of higher education, training or experience, that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
High School diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Prior hotel/motel/resort, law enforcement, private security or military experience.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Mandatory - Fire Life Safety Director COF (T89 or F89) or qualified to obtain the T89 COF
Mandatory - Fire Guard Hotel COF (F01) or qualified to obtain the F01 COF
Licensed Security Guard as required by State or local authorities.
Certified Lodging Security Officer preferable
Certified in Adult, Child and Infant CPR, AED and First Aid preferable.
TIPS Certification preferable.

Your day to day:
As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will perform hotel security duties and procedures to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and the property as well as the property's assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily inspection and ensure compliance of hotel security and safety requirements and procedures in order to protect hotel property, employees and guests against theft, crime, threats and safety hazards. This may include and is not limited to:
Investigate loss and safety incidents involving guests, employees and/or hotel loss and safety exposure and comply with state and government regulations and hotel procedures to prevent/minimize the loss from theft and other safety risk or litigation against the hotel. Such investigations may include theft or lost items, noise complaints, assault complaints, food poisoning complaints, intoxication incidents, other guest complaints and safety hazard accidents and incidents. May have to administer CPR on guest or staff member in accordance to guidelines and communicate specified information to EMS/medical personnel as required. Complete documented reports in accordance to Company and hotel polices and procedures.
Assist in training/educating employees on current safety and security issues to ensure compliance with all Company loss control policies and current security, and safety regulations. Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets. Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs to security equipment or hotel property as needed and ensure that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day's work.
Record necessary and pertinent incident reports or information to police and fire agencies involving investigations and to Corporate Legal department, Corporate Claims Management department, insurance agencies and outside attorneys to assist in case evaluation, settlement or defense involving lawsuits against the Company.
Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest related incidents, questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include all hotel staff, Corporate Hotel Management Group and Corporate Risk Management and Legal department.
Perform other duties as assigned; such as may handle deliveries received during non-business hours.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Create a secure environment by ensuring a visible security presence at Progressive Field ballpark, the administration building, and/or the teammate parking lot for Cleveland Guardians' and Delaware North employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
General
* Conduct regular security checks in the Employee Parking Lot or Employee Entrance, which ever you are assigned to, throughout all operating hours, following specified protocols
* Report incidents, accidents, alarms, maintenance issues, intrusions, or any noteworthy occurrences for to Security Control or BASE (when online) interact responsibly with diverse entities performing business at Progressive Field Employee Parking Lot and Employee Entrance
* conduct security screenings for personnel when entering Employee Entrance and ensure all vehicles that enter the Employee Parking Lot have a valid parking placard for the specific year,
* Implement emergency response procedures in accordance with company security policy and procedures.
* Interface with Cleveland Police, Gateway personnel, Game Day Security & Maintenance, and all other Progressive Field associates, as necessary
* Be flexible in working different posts with varying responsibilities
* Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt, and follow instructions
* Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Employee Lot
* Supervise and guide traffic and parking activities in the parking lot with a focus on maintaining order and efficiency
* Safely direct traffic for both entry and exit
* Provide escort assistance to vehicle for employees, upon request
* Inform the supervisor of any lighting issues, safety hazards, or discrepancies observed
* Verify the presence of current employee hangtags and monitor the authorized volunteer parking list
* Responsible for securing radios and flashlights
* Report and document incidents, accidents, maintenance issues, intrusions, or any noteworthy occurrences, including but not limited to damaged or stolen vehicles, to bring to the attention of management.
* Communicate and work with any 3rd party security services that the Cleveland Guardians' may hire for extra security measures
* Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Employee Entrance
* Ensure all personnel are scheduled via ABI when clocking in.
* Ensure all personnel have current year ballpark ID badges
* Security screen all personnel via the WTMD or Open Gates and perform Secondary Screening if required
* Security Screen all bags for prohibited items including weapons
* Report and document incidents, accidents, maintenance issues, intrusions, or any noteworthy occurrences, to the Security Control room or BASE (when online)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma or G.E.D.
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Demonstrate technical proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel, and possess the capability to learn, understand, and utilize our computerized surveillance system, incident reporting program, entry control system, and any other technologies employed at Progressive Field
* Must possess valid driver's license
* Proficiency in operating security-monitoring equipment, fire alarm equipment and comprehend written security protocols
* Good physical and mental condition with the ability to perform extensive foot patrol duties during all weather conditions
* Capability to handle stressful situations and emergency situations
DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS:
* Familiarize yourself with and comprehend the relevant policies and procedures of the Ballpark Services department and the Cleveland Guardians Organization
* Develop a clear understanding of various departments within the organization and the specific responsibilities of staff members in the department
* Effectively monitor and implement policies and procedures, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with guests
* Gain comprehensive knowledge of all areas within the ballpark to provide accurate directions and assistance to guests
* Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the Employee Handbook and our uniform requirement
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be available to work 56 out of 81 home games (70%) during the months of April through October.
