FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Day Seeking a Vascular Access Nurse Specialist. Master's Degree required Position Summary The Nurse Specialist (NS) leads the advancement of nursing practice at the micro and macro levels. Clinical judgement and collaboration enhance nursing care and its impact on the unique characteristics of the patient in order to devise a plan of care that ensures advocacy. The incumbent translates evidence to achieve safe, quality, and cost-effective outcomes. The NS leads organizational and system changes using systems thinking to optimize resources and improve outcomes. Additional responsibilities include analyzing and evaluating data to ensure practice is patient-centered, safe, timely, effective, and efficient. The NS also designs strategies and interventions to promote optimization within 3 spheres of impact (patient, nurse and systems). The NS functions as an expert clinician and patient advocate. NICU experience or successful completion of a NICU residency program * Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN Resident * NRP within 3 months of hire * IRCU RN * ACLS within 3 months of hire * One year experience in Radiology * Experience in Emergency and Critical Care, preferred * Clinical Administrative Resource (CAR) * ACLS & PALS within 3 months of hire * NIHSS certification within 3 months of hire * Minimum of one, but prefer two, years of experience in Critical Care, PACU, or Emergency Services * STAT RN * ACLS & PALS within 3 months of hire * Minimum of one, but prefer two, years of experience in Critical Care or Emergency Services * NIHSS certification within 3 months of hire * Maternal Child Float Pool * NRP within 3 months of hire * Minimum 1 year of experience in mother baby, level II NICU including CPAP * Must be competent to perform patient assignments in mother baby care, and level II NICU including CPAP within 6 months of hire * Electrophysiology * Two years of EP Lab experience * Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or acquired within 12 months of hire * General Medicine * Chemotherapy Certification obtained within 12 months of hire (Not a requirement for General Medicine Per Diems) Job Qualifications: PREREQUISITES: * BSN preferred. * Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington. * Successful completion of a graduate nurse residency program orientation or six months' experience as a Registered Nurse. * AHA BLS for healthcare providers required. * Preferred for advancement to charge nurse role: * BSN * Experience-Two years' practice in clinical nursing/leadership in area of responsibility preferred * Unit specific prerequisites-see addendum.
