Throughout a 40-year career, John Putman has been both a successful entrepreneur and inventor. He was the second employee at an independent polymer testing Lab, ARDL, which remains an industry leader. In his early twenties he started Polymerics, for which he invented the rubber chemical dispersion, PolyGel, which is a common component in rubber compounds. During Mr. Putman’s time at Monsanto, he was the engineering specialist for ROW (Rest of World) training customers throughout the world. In 1982 he co formed Tech Pro, Inc. for which he was able to provide the first data acquisition systems in his industry. He continued to lead the development team and co-authored numerous patents. Tech Pro was acquired by Roper Industries in 2008. He has remained focused on research, having authored technical papers and presented educational symposia. He was the director of the American Chemical Society Rubber Division Educational Committee. He was profiled for the book “Wheel of Fortune”, Rubber and Plastics News and the Washington Post. He earned his BS in mathematics from the University of Akron.

Julie Orlando began working for Nanotronics’ cofounders Matthew and John Putman at their previous company, Tech Pro, Inc. where she played a key role in hardware development, sales, and customer service. When Roper Industries acquired Tech Pro in 2008, Orlando went on to run a division of Duramax, leading projects for major industrial entities, defense contractors, and branches of the military. Orlando joined Nanotronics as employee number three, where she currently holds the position of Chief Product Officer. Orlando has published several papers in both domestic and international journals, which she has presented at material science conferences and symposia.

James oversees Strategy, Public Policy, Design, Infrastructure, IT, and Human Resources. He is also responsible for the management of the construction and design for Nanotronics’ High Tech Manufacturing Hub, the first-of-its-kind in New York.

Mr. Williams is a member of the Atlantic Council’s Councilors Program and serving on the acclaimed Brooklyn Tech High School’s Centenniel Committee. Prior to joining Nanotronics in 2014, James served as a Creative Director and Producer for clients such as J. Walter Thompson, Bloomberg, Warner Bros, Bomb Magazine, Third Man Records, Sony, Restoration Hardware, Penguin, Ralph Lauren, and Piper-Heidsieck. Mr. Williams holds a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts and is an occasional instructor in SVA’s Photography program.

Alice Globus is the Chief Financial Officer of Nanotronics.

Previously, Alice was the Chief Financial Officer of the Globus Growth Group which is a multi-family office focused on investing in healthcare, ESG, healthtech, fintech, legalized cannabis, esports, and technology.

Ms. Globus has deep financial management and operational experience as the vice-president of a boutique investment banking and a co-founder of a fintech platform that she successfully sold to a private equity group. Other areas of investment knowledge include FDA, compliance, machine learning, supply chain and technology. She also has strong operating experience in manufacturing and operations and had served as Executive Chairman of her family’s company, Winky & Dutch, a white label trim manufacturer that had supplied to companies such as Walmart and Michael’s.

Ms. Globus is a fierce supporter of women and female entrepreneurship. She is active as a member and previously served on the Board for the Financial Women’s Association and as a member of Women in VC, an organization that is an advocate for women for opportunities and connections in the Venture Capital sector.

Ms. Globus works to educate the public through public speaking on issues such as diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace, founder diversity within investment portfolios, the importance of STEM education, and financial literacy.

Alice Globus has traveled extensively as part of her academic studies, conducting research in astrophysics via a grant from the National Science Foundation at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. She has also continued her research at the American Museum of National History, Princeton University, and Columbia University. Alice holds a B.A. in Physics from Wells College and a Ph.D studies and research at Rochester Institute of Technology.
